I see a ridiculous photo edit, and I raise it with this:

Maybe is controversial from this point, but actually i can agree with that.
For sure Maja's peak >>> Antonijevic peak, there is no such comparation, but the time when Antonijevic was at her best (2010 - 2014) she was at least good as Maja at that time.
I can agree with that. But notice what we are saying: Antonijevic, when she was at her peak, was about as good as Maja when she was at her lowest point (I don't need to remind you, but for the sake of others, it should be pointed out that the first half of that period was when Maja was in what we can now recognise as an unhealthy relationship with basketball player Milos Teodosic, to whom she was willing to play second fiddle and sacrifice much of her potential to make their relationship work).

If only it was that easy...

You slept through the last year
Okay, but you could just explain for the sleepers and slow-witted among us...

Well on the contrary.. Ana knew she was almost as good/better as/than Maja, so never getting a chance ruined her self confidence and motivation. Bojana knew her place, that her skills are simply subpar compared to Maja, and her mentality was ‘happy to be there’ as a sub.
Broadly, you are making a good point, but "better than Maja"? Come on, not even YOU can truly believe that...

Daily dose of coincidence
New serbian NT coach will arrive in serbia for CL group stage match
He is current champions league champion
He will play against reining serbian champion
He will have Paola Egonu in his team
He just lose world club championships
He will face Tijana Vrcelj
...
Well rest of the story we all know
I've been trying to parse this post for 5 minutes, and for the life of me I can't figure out, as the saying goes, what the author was trying to say.

Okay but let’s not even compare Antonijevic in her prime, with Zivkovic… because Bojana is not even close
That's true (with allowance for "not even close" being something of a hyperbole). But then, that only makes Bojana's achievement all the more impressive, because inferiority complex would have been so much stronger in her case than Ana's.

When her (Maja's) husband tweeted congratulations to the team for winning WCH, a Serbian user said something to the effect: "Maja was missed", he responded "No, she very obviously wasn't, thankfully. But thank you for kind words".

Nobody comparing Drca vs Ognjenovic overall, Maja is legend, but we need to talk about current state/shape.
Ognjenovic cannot play 3 days in a row, i am not sure if she can play some intense 5 setters now. She is 38y.
On other hand, Drca is literally in her prime days now, Maja was dragon 4 years ago.
Drca and Wolosh are 2 best setters in the world now, rest cannot compete with them.
I agree, except the last line, which is debatable at minimum. But that's our respective jobs, right? You to be an incorrigible, incurable optimist, and me a spoilsport pessimist.

she was majas back up for a while. Her name used to be Zivkovic
If by "for a while" you mean her whole career, then yeah. That she managed to do it without breaking psychologically (let alone coming up with such a performance when she was finally given the chance), also speaks extremelly well of her. Antonijevic, only a year older than Bojana, already gave up on the job of being Maja's (rarely used) understudy by her mid 20s. I can't blame her. It's a thankless and tough task. Always being the ugly duckling to Maja's princess, always being judged (by the world and by yourself even) as less worthy; as not good enough. It's enough to break the strongest of wills.
I myself always considered her a workingman-like setter to Maja's artist. And here's the thing: for most of her career, she was. How much of that was the pressure and the inferiority complex holding her back from achieving her true potential, none of us (maybe even herself) can answer.

This situation reminds me of Fofão/ Venturini situation before Beijing 2008.
Let's hope it has the same outcome, no?

damn, i spend too much time writing
With such quality output, you can compose every post for 2 hours, we'll forgive you.

Why do I have a feeling lately that you are agreeing with everyone except me, Bogdan?
Think of my feelings!

But i think you are wrong about other staff, she is our core player and with Boskovic and Lozo she will be main player in the next 5 years. I heard she was sick in last few games during WCH. But in general she played pretty good during whole summer.
Source? Never heard anything like that. To me, it clearly looked to be the case of nerves. As Maja (Ognjenovic) mentioned in passing in that documentary recently, this was the first really big tournament (bigger than VNL) where Aleksic was a starter and one of the players from whom most was expected, and it showed. She was a nervous wreck, and I think nerves are her greatest obstacles, not the lack of talent or capability. That's in some ways good news, because nerves can be overcome with experience (hence the need to play as much as possible). Agree that she had a good summer prior to WCH.

Another great post!
If I were choosing a team mixed with experienced and young players (while resting the most important players) I would choose:
S: Mirkovic, Cirovic
OH: Uzelac/Tica, Mirosavljevic, Lazovic, Milenkovic
MB: Kocic, Osmajic, Malesevic, Popovic/Aleksic
OPP: Bjelica, Miljevic/Zelenovic
L: Gocanin, Jegdic
I like to match up the strenghts and experience of players. For example, VNL’21 Lozo and Lazovic were starting every match, but toward the middle of the competition, Lozo was replaced with Mirosavljevic in the middle of every set - why? - because Lozo didn’t have good enough reception and defense to stay on the court with Lazovic who also has bad reception, even though she is better in attack than Mirosavljevic. Lazovic was the main scorer in that VNL'21 and Mirosavljevic was a better fit with her. So I would choose 1 young and 1 experienced player, or 2 attacking-minded players and 2 blocking/reception-minded players. This is just for fun, picking players that have more potential and playing them to improve and develop regardless of the results might be better in the long run.
Another long post...
I like your choices, particularly for OH. I would personally go for repeat of last year's VNL in letting Aleksic continue to rack up experience on the biggest stages (she showed very much that she is not among the very top of our roster in terms of dependability at WCH, so no need to rest her). Popovic is a known quantity, and you know exactly what you'll likely to get from her, in both good and bad ways. One of the main question marks is Lazovic. Two years ago she looked a clear-cut leader among all players younger than 1997. Last year, she was the player with the greatest regression (to the point that she looked to be absolute least useful member of WCH squad, even behind Jegdic).
As for bolded, I think that's exactly the right strategy, and why Uzelac and Tica MUST play the whole VNL, regardless of how the rest of the squad will look like.

Damn am I too late to post this?
Also

I don't know about the timing, but at least you are using that gif in an appropriate context, and that alone is a huge change of pace.

Welcome, Jelena! A great start to what will hopefully be a fruitful posting career here. Also like the avatar!
Speaking of, I see you have finally put the same one you have on the Site That Shall Not Be Named, Madden.

When I saw almost 20 new posts in the last couple of hours, I was sure it was going to be a fight of some sort...

Not even Hollywood scriptwriters can come with such a perfect scenario. An empty-headed, insecure criminal picks up on an autistic 19-year old hoping to get some more fame from it, and getting dunked on by that 19-year old with a tweet of the year (answering that tweet with "How dare you"; my god). Then in trying to reclaim some semblance of respect and "manhood" you tweet something that directly gets you to being arrested for a heinous crime, and then that 19 year-old writing this immortal epitaph on your gravestone.
