    Agree with this one. The odds are way on Brazil's side for the finals. If they will beat USA in 3-sets, it will be a double history i guess.


    But im still hoping for the US to give it all (for sure)... not only with the skills but also the heart.


    Anyway, a silver medal is still a medal. Heather Bown has been dreaming for a podium finish eversince. So there you go :thumbup:

    I hope Brazil's girls could beat USA on Saturday. If our reception works well, I believe we will be Champions for the 1st time! But I have no doubts that it will be tough!
    Anyway, I still believe in a straight-set victory, these girls surely deserve it! They have dedicated for this Olympic Gold since 2005.

    I know Brazil will probably win the gold, but I'll be rooting for USA anyway. I like them, and I always root for the "weaker" team in a match, so... :)

    Brazil 5 - 0 USA (I don't know the scores of the sets)*


    * This match was a friendly match Brazil played against the US Team already in Beijing in order to prepare for the OG


    What makes me especially confident about this match is the fact that this year the only Brazil's loss was in the tie-breaker, in a friendly match played in the United States, where Fofão didn't play.

    I cannot believe USA women are playing for gold!!!!!!!!! :D Who would have thought it? I certainly didn't. Brazil is much better team and they should win, but it would be pretty cool if USA ended up winning in 5 sets.... again. :thumbsup:

    Until now, I'm still stunned, I never saw it coming. Congratulations to the US! They upset, Poland, Italy and now Cuba. "Why not Brazil?" I think that will be their rallying cry in the finals where anything can happen. I'm so happy again because Willoughby played well, those three straight kills to close the third set nearly made me cry. After snobbing the 2004 tryouts, here she is reaching for her dreams. And speaking of dreams, Bown and Scott-Arruda can leave the NT with the medals they longed for all those years. I will not be surprised if the US wins the gold. I know it sounds ridiculous but why not? :lol:


    Anyway, I'm a fan of the two teams so Good luck to the both of them. I would be so happy if the US can extend the match to five sets. Again, that sounds ridiculous. But why not? :roll:

    USA might be first and last team who stops Brasil> this game shuold be great - both USA and Brasil shuoldn't be too much tired after semifinals.
    By the way, I wouldn't be surprised if we would have two BRA-USA final in volleyball (female and male). It would be amazing!

    Brazil's reception doesn't scare me at all. Besides the fact that China serves better than the USA and Brazil is leading this fundamental with Mári being the best receiver of the Olympic Tournament so far, the team still has Jaqueline, Sassá and Valeskinha, which are specialists in this fundamental. In addition to this, even when reception doesn't work well, Fofão forces balls with the middle-blockers other setters don't dare to do and Paula and Mári are dealing sucessfully with the side-out when reception fails.

    Brazil found its share of losing against USA already! LOL!


    I was so excited with our volleyball team that I didn't give a damn to this defeat! But at least they got silver and the semifinal match was pretty nice! Brazil's comeback was marvellous! The 4-1 victory over Germany was just amazing! Anyway, seeing the girls crying was heartbreaking, especially because they beat USA 4-0 in the FIFA's Women World Cup and they dominated the match despite not being able to score.

    That's called foot-volley. What's the big deal? LOL!


    I just hope Brazil's girl victory over the US team couldn influence our men's team to do the same if this were the final match of the Men's tournament!
