  • The best answer for that behaviour is to win, as you did on sunday. Demonstration like "we won't play there anymore" isn't the best idea...

Guess I wasn't clear, sorry. I meant that Brazil shouldn't play a final like the one that happened on sunday, in Serbia, against the Serbian team, ever again, but just to avoid any kind of problems, not as an "answer". And for that, FIVB should think twice before letting Serbia host the finals again. I know that it seems that I'm overeacting, but his kind of behavior shoudn't be erased; it was an important thing that happened. Nothing against Serbia, 2005 was very good. :rose:

  • About the final, I almost died seeing it, but it was really emotional to see Bruninho crying on the ceremony. Great game, Brazil and Serbia like playing breathtaking games. In 2003 it was amazing! And it also ended with a beautiful spike of Giba. :dance4:

  • Well yeah, but the actual structure of their technique is very similar too. Short approach, same kind of swing and they're both really good at adapting their approach to where the set is given (often side stepping etc).

You're definitely right. It seems like all the best opposites in the world right now are very good at hitting bad sets, as they must be, because on any kind of play that is out of system, the opposite gets set nearly every time.

It's always fun to watch Miljkovic, and Visotto was good as well. It was the first time I have seen Visotto play.

  • You're definitely right. It seems like all the best opposites in the world right now are very good at hitting bad sets, as they must be, because on any kind of play that is out of system, the opposite gets set nearly every time.

To me, that's exactly the definition of an opposite.
At international level or very high club levels, with the qualities of setters and players overall, almost any given outside hitter could kill a good set as long as the system is correctly called by the setter. A great opposite only start to make an impact when it comes to tough balls and difficult sets to hit.

  • About the best opposites in the world :

    1. Visotto

    2. Milkovich

    3. Nikolov

    4. Mikhaylov (RUS)
