    FenerbahceAcibadem adds up Turkish national league to most successful season ever



    Istanbul, Turkey, May 7, 2010. FenerbahceAcibadem ISTANBUL was crowned national champion in Turkey on Thursday night after having concluded in three matches the Championship series against VakifGunesTTelekom ISTANBUL. This is definitely the icing on the cake for Fenerbahce after a stellar season that featured also the second place in the CEV Indesit Champions League and saw the “yellow angels” claim also the national cup some weeks ago. The third and last match ended with a quick 3:0 for Gamova & Co. (25-22, 26-24, 25-21).


    Mr. Erol Ünal Karabıyık, President of the Turkish Volleyball Federation, and Mr. Mehmet Atalay, who is heading the General Directorate for Youth and Sports, handed over the trophy to captain Cigdem Can Rasna. Mr. Mehmet Çakmak and Mr. Selahattin Şahin presented the trophy for the second place to the girls of VakifGunes. The winners bagged also a check of 30’000 € whereas VakifGunes brought home 20’000.
