Germany - DVL 1. Bundesliga 2012/13

  • The problem is that there have been very few matches where the team could play with the best line-up. Linda Dörendahl was injured some weeks, now Ashley Benson is out (and she missed some matches earlier in the season too)...Münster's starting seven is very good, but their system is very much made for those players, so if somebody is missing, it's difficult for the team...

I agree. Likely, last season they had hardly injuries.

  • They are even better than De Kruijf as MB。。。

  • Yeah well, of course they are not exactly the same type of player, but that's also not what I meant ;) I was just refering to the style (movement, armswing) of attack which looks similar in both, but of course it helps that they are both tall blond Dutch girls :D

I still think it was not a good idea to move Pietersen to Opp (whose idea was it anyway??)...in 2006, I watched Dutch Junior NT in ECH and Pietersen as MB was by far the best and most interesting player of that team, I'm sure if she had stayed MB she could be better than De Kruijf and Steenbergen now, and what's most important, right now Dutch NT has no MB2-type player, all 3 MBs of current Dutch NT attack better behind the setter than in front of the setter, and Pietersen was more a Visser-style MB who attacked very well in the middle.

Van Dalean is also a strong middle attacker。。。
I feel really sad of turning them into OPP,because Moneik Jansen、Celeste Plak and Lonneke Sloetjes are or can be OPPs too。。。

  • Münster - Köpenick 0:3 (23, 23, 22)
    http://live.volleyball-bundesliga.de/2012/Women/&2062.pdf
MVP: Linda Dörendahl / Patricia Grohmann

Looks like a surprising result, but Münster was without Cutura (Nirk? Why?), so Sloetjes was the only real attacker, and Köpenick for the first time since 6 weeks could use both starting OHs again. Münster was leading 22:17 and 23:21 in 1st set but lost it eventually, and in 3rd set Münster was also always leading until 2nd TTO but in the end Pia Riedel served Köpenick from 19:18 to 23:18...

What I have heard Hana Cutura has a Muskelverhärtung (muscle tightness in english?).

Thanks, so at least nothing too serious...

I also read somewhere that Dijkema has muscular problems because of her ankle injury and von Piekartz feels some pain in her chest/ribs whenever she sets a ball, that doesn't make life easier for Münster. But I'm confident that they can reach playoff semifinals if everybody is healthy in March/April :win:

I hope so but they should avoid to play against Schwerin, Dresden and Vilsbiburg in quarterfinal. Next league matches are in Schwerin, against Wiesbaden and against Vilsbiburg. If they want to get at least fifth in normal round they must win both matches at home I think.

That´s correct, Axel Büring said so during a press conference past Thursday.

  • Time for some new injuries in Dresden :aww: Judith Pietersen has an inflammation in her shoulder and needs 2 weeks break, Stefanie Karg has some injury in her left arm, it's not clear yet what exactly it is, she will have MRI this week...

So for the next matches, Utla will have to play as Opp and Schwabe and Izquierdo are the only OHs, Anne Matthes is back in the team but she can't play a full match yet...

    :aww: :aww: Poor Dresden-girls... :white:

  • Münster-Köpenick:

Interesting report...it says there were rumors that Cutura did not play because she didn't come to training this week. Axel Büring laughs about it and says it's totally not true, but he admits that there was a conflict between him and Cutura, partially also in public (probably because he complained about her performance in Hamburg match so much), but they talked about it and everything is OK now, and a player who does not come to training without reason would be thrown out in Münster and Hana knows that and she'd never do that...
Andrea Berg says they could not play worse than at the moment :S
"Interesting" set from Dijkema to Sloetjes at 2'05 by the way... :aww:

    EDIT Vilsbiburg-Wiesbaden: http://www.rfltv.de/mediathek/…s_VC_Wiesbaden-10625.html

  • What is wrong with Bundesliga website? It has been down for several days now. Are they getting a new one?

  • Münster's coach Axel Büring suffered a complicated leg fracture yesterday and cannot work for several weeks :white:
And as if that were not bad enough, their captain Andrea Berg suffered a hand injury in training and won't be able to play this weekend (and some more time probably) :S

  • Kerstin Tzscherlich will play her 400th match in 1st league for Dresden on Saturday against VCO Berlin. Her recovery is not going well and it will be her only appearance on court this season and of course she can only play a few rallies. After the season she will decide if she retires from volleyball or if she tries to play again next season...

    Matches on dvl-live.tv this weekend:
Saturday 17.30 CET Dresden - VCO Berlin
Saturday 19.00 CET Schwerin - Münster

Schwerin just comes from a very mentally and physically exhausting match against Busto and their heads are probably somewhere between the 1st and the 2nd Busto match, while Münster comes from two bad matches against Hamburg and Köpenick and they have nothing to lose, so it could be an interesting (though maybe not really high level) match...

  • I expect a kind of walk-over for Schwerin tomorrow. Münster has a long list of (lightly) injured players...Not available: MB Benson and Berg. Lightly injured: Hana Cutura, Laura Dijkema, Tess von Piekartz, Linda Dörendahl. Presumably von Piekartz will be in starting-six.

    Linda Dörendahl injured?!
Not a single word in that news article related to Linda, so where does the info come from?

' Obwohl der Schuh auch auf der Libero-Position drückt '

  • ' Obwohl der Schuh auch auf der Libero-Position drückt '

'Obwohl der Schuh drückt' in german can mean anything ;) I would not rely on not seeing Linda play...

Anyway, when first reading it I simply thought he means setting position, because it continues with a quote concerning Laura und Tess, which seems a little bit strange to me. On the other hand, the hint at Linda missing might be related to the preceding sentence saying no libero from 2nd squad is gonna come along. But if so, why then does the writer of the article not clearly mention Linda Dörendahl? One way or the other, something feels wrong there :what:

  • DVL website is still down, so I have to type the results by hand

    Dresden - VCO Berlin 3:0 (14, 11, 21)

MVP: Lisa Rühl / Patricia Grohmann

    Vilsbiburg - Hamburg 3:0 (23, 23, 22)

MVP: Lena Möllers / Imke Wedekind

    Schwerin - Münster 3:0 (10, 15, 21)

MVP: Denise Hanke / Ines Bathen

    Suhl - Wiesbaden 3:1 (30:28, 25:19, 20:25, 25:10)
    http://live.volleyball-bundesliga.de/2012/Women/&2112.pdf
MVP: Claudia Steger / Rebecca Schäperklaus

    Stuttgart - Aachen 3:0 (22, 23, 9)
    http://live.volleyball-bundesliga.de/2012/Women/&2114.pdf
MVP: Lora Kitipova / Anke Borowikow

Aachen is now 6 points behind Suhl, it's almost impossible that they can stay in the league (but probably they'll stay anyway because it's unlikely that a 2nd league team will want to play in 1st league).
Münster without most of their starters today, even Sloetjes was on bench :white: Sina Fuchs hurt her knee in 3rd set, she had a serious knee injury already some years ago, I hope it's not the same again :(
Looks like Wiesbaden wasted all their powers in Cup semifinal, ever since that they don't play well...
