2015 European Games - Baku / Azerbaijan - 6/13

  • Idman tv vanilla does freeze, I am watching it from a different site streaming them, earlier pages had different links maybe try them. couple of pages ago someone linked a comprehensive link list....

21-20 2nd set azeris leading, imust say Rahimova is a monster this tourney, she really hadn't impressedsme at all previously i saw her play

  • Azeris win 2nd set 25-23, i thought the key was their reception, excellent mostly, they were shaky last few points though(with the reception). played good defence too and with Rahimova notching up spikes they deserved it, can they keep it up? i feel they are playing above themselves

  • Katarzyna Zaroślińska is amazing! Thank you Kasia , thank you my Poland! Huge success! I believe in the gold medal! Go Poland . :)

  • Turkey has to be more ruthless, we keep getting these 3-4 points leads and keep letting them back in. I won't mention scores people dropping in looking for links and most probably going to the delayed youtube, i would, i want to karate kick this commentator...i love it though when he shuts the f up when turkey wins a point, and the crowd goes silent, polenhas done well when she came in, we have 3 on form spikers, which is very unusual

This has been a spikers party and i think along with Rahimova, Zaroślińska has been the stand out, both i have seen play before and really thought nothing special, but both have been amazing. For Turkey i am really satisfied with our 3 scoresrs Neriman, Yilmaz and Polen they also have really been good, but spelling each other, a team effort. I think there is another scorer in the tourney i am missing can't think of for now

  • Congrats, Turkey :drink: :drink: :drink: :super: :super: :super:

I said it before the tournament and I keep saying it: Turkey will win the gold medal :win: Simply because they have no weak points :win:

  • Amazing win by Turkey, I am really proud, a team that blew out Poland and Netherlands easily we beat TWICE, no questions now if we deserve to be in the finals. i thought we should have beaten them in 4 sets. The dictator and his botoxed, aging porn star lips wife in the stands too, with the amazing crazy home crowd going nuts, the fu*****ing idman tv douche bag commentator put in his place also.
I thought when Naz screamed in Rahimovas face on last point when she was blocked too much and unsportsmanlike, but I ENJOYED it bacause Rahimova was doing it all tourney long crotchh grinding and punching against opponents when ever she won points.
How much bonus money they were offered just didn't count against real passion and quality in the end, well done Turkey.

I don't care as much as this match if we win vs Poland, but i honestly just want the best team to win, but clearly i want Turkey.

  • Turkey has a lot of weak points, they are obvious for everyone to see. But they always fight till the end and it pays off often. Nice game from Azeri girls, such a shame they couldn't keep it up at the decisive moment.

Tell me about the weak points Turkey has, related to the other teams in this tournament :win: I'm curious

oh, you've changed the question) yes, related to the other teams in the tournament Turkey is the most balanced team. but we obviously can't say Turkey has no weak points. I personally don't like their MB - all too slow and Gizem, although at times spectacular, can have a long spells when she can't make a single good reception. Of course Neri's reception will not even mention. I also think that Yilmaz is overrated, Polen is obviously much better, but she's always a sub.

  • Gizem played really well today. Amazing diggs especially against Rahimova. With her diggs and the blocks we stopped Rahimovas spikes which the other teams couldn't do (as they all lost against Azerbaijan). Rewatch the match the defense was amazing.

He/she didn't change the question asked just one in query. But I agree with some of your observations, I prefer Dicle Nur Babat as the pick of our young 3 MBs I do think Kubra is over rated she is very good when in position but yes can be immobile. Asli Kalac even though she is only 19 i think is a dope and won't be near A team in future.
Gizem, also i agree when she is on form she looks like the best of Japanese or Chinese liberos, but i feel she sometimes kills us with her loss of focus on reception. I have been impressed with Dalbeler our back up and would have started her instead.
I disagree on Yilmaz, I think she can be our best scorer, i hesitate to say she can be world class, she is 24 but if you consider in Turkey we have a fascination with foreign players still, she hardly got game time in top class games, the one chance she got in final of CL she was excellent, and in World club champs also. I consider her at 20 years old in development compared to other countries standards.
She will be playing in Italy at yamamay busto next season on rental, i think in couple of years she will be NTs key spiker/scorer

  • I am watching the youtube replay now, relaxed with a cool drink :cup: I think though the crowd has been excellent through out this tournement, which has been excellent in general, not saying it just because we have done well here. I think next euros champs some teams will send their better teams, depends though where it is held, I think Azeris have done a greatJ ob with this Euros not just volleyball, i mean in general, if this champs are to stick next one has to be close to this.

BTW i am looking at Italy and Russia in the quality of team they should be sending out next champs....

  • The last comments should be a joke. The only useful MB Turkey has at the moment is Kubra Akman. She developed a lot in one year although she was not playing all the time in Vakifbank because of Bahar. Now I can see that she got much faster and reading the blocks much better and when she is on spot on right time, there is no way to pass her.
Diclenur is the disastrous one. She really really needs to work on her attacking which does not exist at all. Most people would criticize Naz for setting only "1" ball to Diclenur in a 5 set game but if you watch carefully, Diclenur simply does not know how to attack. In every position, she is already a meter ahead of Naz, jumping too early, almost into the net which makes it impossible for Naz to set to her. I'm surprised that Diclenur could not work on her attacking even with a great setter like Leo during entire season.
Asli Kalac, despite being very short is much better than Diclenur in overall. She is probably the best attacking MB among these 3 named here and she is fast. Especially against teams that play faster like Japan, Asli is the only person that can make it to the block. Once again, you can check her stats during the season and see she did well in number of kill blocks although she is short. Besides that, there are many positive block touches she makes during the game which we don't see in basic stats sheet. To me, Turkey would be playing much better if Kubra & Asli were on court and Merve Dalbeler was the libero. With good reception, Naz would simply use middles more often and wings could relax a bit.

I agree about Gözde Yilmaz. She should work on her serve receiving and develop to a player like Neriman. She is more useful from zone 4 and 6 instead of being an OPP. Polen is much better from zone 2 and 1 compared to her. It's really unfortunate that they are both really slow in attacking and defense.

I heard in NTV spor that Azeri team was offered a good money for the tournament. That explains why they played so good. It was really nice to watch the game, but it was unfortunately full of bad sportsmanship. I'm curious how it would turn out if Rahimova ever scream at Gamova :cheesy:

I will not argue on Yilmaz, because she's kind of new player to me, I really don't remember her playing. And as I've read here Turkish users praise her highly, I thought - all right, I'll watch her game more closely. And from Montreux torunament I do and she still hasn't convienced me of great potential. You know like Isaeva in Russian NT - she can be very in and out during one tournament, but when she's "in", she really can make points, like in quarterfinals against Turkey. I still wait for Yilmaz to show her leaders qualities, but haven't seen yet. But of course, she could need some more time to feel like NT leader. And Polen's game I know for several years and always thought that she'll develop into Turkey's new NT Opp player after Neslihan's retirement.

  • Fun fact: the two teams whose fans were moaning endlessly about the choice of the new head coaches some months ago are now playing for Gold.

Honestly, I'm still not convinced with Ferhat yet. I really hope he will be successful but both Montreux and this tournament are not really the place the measure his success. With Barbolini, this team could beat Brazil last year. So I hope, when other players join the team such as Gözde Kirdar, he will make better decisions and Turkey will still compete well against top teams, especially in WGP.
Some of his decisions are still a question mark. For example what is Seda doing there at all? or Meliha? Why does he insist on Gizem Karadayi during times she fails in serve reception? In my opinion, he is not that brave yet to make direct substitutions but I hope, he will get more self confidence game by game and be more involved with substitutions and other elements than just relaxing the team in time outs.

  • ferhat is still child! he is very exciting and losing control. This is reflecting to the team. he must more mature and relax. he must go doctor(turkish slang).
