  • What is happening with Bokan? Is she playing?

In a quick answer, playing? Barely on the court.

In the 6 matches she has played in, she has always been a substitute.
Oct. 25, played in all 3 sets as a sub, 2 kills on 6 attempts, 2 serves, 1 service error, Serve Reception 2/3
Oct. 31, played in 1 sets as a sub, 2 kills on 2 attempts
Nov. 1, played in 2 sets as a sub, 0 kills on 2 attempts
Nov. 7, played in 2 sets as a sub, 2 kills on 6 attempts
Nov. 29, played in 2 sets as a sub, 1 kill on 3 attempts
Dec. 13, played in 1 sets as a sub, 1 kill on 1 attempt

So grand total 6 matches, 11 sets played (as a sub), 8 kills/20 attempts (0 hitting errors), 2 serves, 1 service error, serve reception 2/3 (67% effective)

She probably made good money playing in Japan this year. But Hisamitsu is essentially starting a Japanese national team with Nagaoka, Kotoh, Shinnabe and Ishii. Iwasaka was previously on the national team and Zayasu as well as the libero.

Hisamitsu is a top team, even last year their foreign player was Branicka Mihalovic only played in 12 matches and 20 sets total. 6 of those matches and 10 of those sets in the playoffs!

So the team is good and may not need her, I hate to say. But if the quality of the team is good, maybe it improves her skills for the long run.

On the men's side, Feb. 6 & 7 will be in Osaka at the Osaka City Central Gymnasium. Toyota Gosei Trefuerza, Panasonic Panthers, Suntory Sunbirds and FC Tokyo will be playing in those matches there.
