2018 Volleyball Nations League (VNL)

  • What a dominating performance by Russia.

Their reception was particularly poor(new libero in the system) but they just have too much leverage on everything especially the block and the attack. Muserskiy and Mikhaylov were the only strong servers in Russia but it didn't stop them from winning it all in just only three sets.

  • Congrats Russia well deserved victory! When was the last time France got beaten 3-0? After this convincing win, they sent a message to all teams that they are the team to beat this coming WCH :box:

I was thinking they were going to have a difficult time after the world cup loss of Russia but I guess their cold-bloodedness is not just for show. :white:

  • I think Volkov is a record holder for the youngest captain to win a major tournament atleast for volleyball. Am I right? :white:

  • The World League host curse is still running so deep for 22 years it even effected France on it's spiritual succeeding tournament. :gone:

  • I think the MVP award should have gone to Muserskiy.

  • I think the MVP award should have gone to Muserskiy.

It could have gone to Maxim or Dima and both are deserving really. Mikahylov played brilliant especially in tjis gold medal match, 19pts and over 73% efficiency but Dima was excellent since Day 1 :white:

  • Anderson won best Opp, how could I leave him out, he and Maxim were the last two players when the special awards were given out #MattMax

I guess the effect of Muserskiy on his team and against opponents cannot be substantiated by statistics. Even out of system, opponents can't take their eyes off of him because he's simply too dominant in the middle that even a non-setter can push the ball to him and kill it :white:

I'm not sure but if speak of volleyball both male and female, Zhu Ting won WGCC 2017 when she was 22 turning 23.

That's true...but then WGCC is not really a major tournament. :win:

  • Russia has become my new favorite team! Kliuka-Muserskiy-Mikhaylov trio is unstoppable!

Russian dominance in terms of size is a huge advantage. Kliuka's 3.51m jump height against Toniutti outstretched hands is funny yet devastating to watch. This team is for sure the one to beat in the next years building up to Tokyo 2020.

Always been a fan of Mikhaylov - he is a cool Russian. It is kinda unfortunate to be Poletaev; the rising star of Russian OPP to have Mikhaylov still slaying the competition 6 years after London Olympics.

Toniutti is definitely a world-class setter, in a league of his own. A very creative one. Bruno & Lucas duo is for me the gold standard in men's MB-setter duo but watching Toniutti shooting b-quicks to his middles are just amazing experience.
#sidenote: France's bench players are a bunch of beautiful men. :cheesy:

is this Tyllie guy the best OH that France have beside the France diva right now? He seemed useless. and the France diva could have done so much better if only he stop wasting so much energy and attention to being a diva and start playing like a real professional one.

    All in all, congrats Russia!

  • Ngapeth was the best player on his team last night. I dont know what you were talking about. It's a sport. You win or you lose. Why is this pathetic user coming to talk shi about the player u hate and then talking about how homesome the players are. Stick to the game pls. This is not a porn site.

Excuse me? Are you coming for me?

I'd never said Ngapeth was useless. I said he would be much better focusing on the game rather than his diva persona.

I am just stating the fact that the bench players of France are a bunch of beautiful men, that's it. People talk about jersey for fcuk sake in this forum, doesn't mean people are ignoring the game.

You need to get laid or get a friend. You coming for people who has no intention of stirring up a fight is downright pathetic and annoying. I hope you find peace for whatever it is the trouble you have at home.

Says the guy who constantly complains the Turkey's Women NT about their screaming.

  • USA will be hosting the men`s finals for the next 3 years (20019-2020-2021).

Having the same country hosting every time is boring..... And this is a very interesting choice considering that Americans does not even shows up...mostly fans that shows up for volleyball games are actually "foreigners" ..... this year`s VNL 99% of the crowd was Iranian and Polish.... let`s hope Iran, Poland and Brazil will be making the finals in the next 3 years otherwise we will see a lot of empty seats.

FIVB is trying to grow the sport in China and in the USA.

  • Well... Daddy trying to favor his son clearly did not work....

France needs Clevenot.... he`s more physical than Rossard/Tillie/Lynnel....that takes pressure of Ngapeth... Otherwise Toniuti runs a Serbia women`s style game....setting only Ngapeth & Boyer while ignoring the middles.

Russia is looking really good and certainly will be chasing Gold in Italy....but I still think Brazil and Italy will show their best and we might see these 2 in the final again...
