If anything, this "war" has exposed these Western countries for the frauds that they are. They call themselves as "progressive" and were so quick to condemn Russia for invading Ukraine but were silent when it comes to Gaza and continues to support Israel even though it's committing war crimes with impunity. Did I say I'm justifying Hamas? Let me get this clear for you. What Hamas did on October 7 was wrong. But like what I said earlier, it's a reaction to decades of living under an apartheid regime. If you continue to instigate violence, you will get violence in turn.

I think the US and their proxies are for sure concerned of natural resources, although there is almost nothing of value outside of opium in Afghanistan. The country is practically one large desert devoid of valueable minerals and oil. What made them attack Afghanistan and seek to dethrone the Talibans in charge of the regime? I believe there is is an ocean of causes, but the military complex is powerful in the US and they are lobbying for war in order to keep their position in the hierarchy. Peperpetual peace would cause massive unemployment in the US as they employ millions of people in their army as of now.
Hence they simply pursue the sort of "perpetual war economy" as George Orwell outlined in 1984 in order to 1) Maintain stability in the workforce and keep the working-class occupied, often at slave-like conditions 2) Blame an external enemy to distract the people and implement populistic measures, i.e "war on terror" to gain popular support 3) Satisfy capitalistic/industrial interests. 4) Create puppet states with liberal and market-friendly measures where the US businesses could thrive (McDonalds, Starbucks etc) from consumerism through the purchase power of an emerging local middle-class 5) Establish friendly puppet states or pseudo-colonial states where they could benefit and reap the fruits from very cheap labour for their companies 6) Establish puppet or proxy states where tax regulations would make them tax heavens for Big Business. Ireland is a case-in-point of a nation which is ruthlessly exploited by the US conglomerates. Several large American enterprises have their HQs on Ireland, but the population hardly benefit at all from it as almost all money generated from its activity escapes the nation with limited tax-return, so called "tax flight" and create a restrained amount of jobs for their citizens (outside of finance sector, almost none). 7) Come to the rescue of their allies who are against a certain country.
Just as Orwell suggests, the outcome of the war is here fairly pointless and war is thus merely a tactic without any traditional end in itself. There are private commercial and industrial enterprises who gain immense profit from war as it forces the government to make huge purchases of their equipment, thus Big Business craves war to cash in on it. The most priviliged government contractors have made many billions of dollars from the campaigns in Iraq, Syria, Kuwait and Afghanistan. Russia has also seen a considerable spike in their economy since the invasion of Ukraine, as military spending accounts for so much of their GDP. The defense industry, with its military pay, ammunition, tanks, planes and sectors such as the steel industry are benefiting from the war. This is also why their economy is growing despite all sanctions and why many oligarchs are still behind Putin.
