Volleyball Thailand League 2020-2021

  • Please post here if league will resume. How many daily cases in Thailand now? I thought situation was very good there.

There’s a news that the TVA is negotiating with the government about resuming Thailand league. They mentioned something like mid Feb as far as I know.

The COVID situation was really good before the 3rd week of December when we found cases from migrants workers from neighboring country. Now we have 150-250 cases a day. Not too bad but it’s alarming to think we went from 3,xxx cases to 10,xxx within a month 😞

  • Nakhon Ratchasima The Mall VC vs 3BB Nakornnont

That was a good match. Pimpichaya even had some kind of break down early on with her poor performance. But glad she picked her self up to make it into a tie breaker match. Unfortunately 3bb didn't win, but at least they got their groove back. Tichaya even stepped up too, I just wish she could be more consistent in setting. I would really like to see her stick to the senior NT, due to her height. She will be good for blocking help(as THA needs all the help they could get 😆).

Korat seem to have a good coach and training staff. They have manged to develop chatchu-on and Chitaporn to be better. Chatchu-on just seems so much more stable and confident these days. Not to mention she is also captain too. I just don't like how korat is just to dependent on her though. She has been making 25+ points in all the past matches. She might get injured or get too exhausted that way. Chitaporn has good net defense and decent attacking, but if she is going to do slide attacks, she needs to be faster and smarter with her hits. Look at Arika from Japan, slow, but still quite effective. But can't end with out mention Chatsuda either, she was great during this match. She provided the support that Basa didn't do much of, but thats ok, Basa just needs more time to adjust.

  • from the men's division, I really enjoy the team koh kood cabana. They are pretty similar to the women's nt. Good at defense and surprising top teams. They are lbgt friendly too or is their whole team part of the lbgt community 🤔....Anyway, I just like them a lot and they have some nice eye candy too. 😆 🤣

  • Hey my Thai friends, any word on Ajcharaporn playing in Himeji coming up? There was a nonsense "transfer" listed over at volleybox, but it really got my juices flowing

  • This is the first time I hear about this.

    Did you mean next season?

yes, for next season. The source for the transfer was phony, but it gave me a jolt because I've thought it would be a perfect fit

  • Nootsara will return in leg 2 with Diamond Food VC. She will be a great improvement in the setting department and may even help Diamond reach higher in the rankings and maybe this time, make to the final 4, unlike last year.

I don't know what's up with Ajcharaporn, but she doesn't seem to be in shape or form at all. She needs to get back to her 2016-17 figure again. She isn't fat, but just doesn't look as fit as then. Not only that, she doesn't jump or seem as explosive either anymore. Although during 2018 WCh, she wasn't as fit either, she stilled played well during that time. So if she does get to play in Japan next season, I think that will be a great thing. Japan just seem to have a way better training system both at club and NT level and work ethic that really develops players to become overall better. Just take for example, Thatdao and the other Thais that have played in Japan before.

I haven't seen a lot of Ajcharaporn over the last year or more but I remember thinking she didn't necessarily look out of shape, but had maybe lost a little of the enthusiasm I was used to seeing from her.

It's sort of an inside joke from me (that I'm not really joking about) to say Himeji is the future of the Japan V.League, and since I'm quite fond of Ajcharaporn and the way she plays I really want to believe there is some whiff of truth to the rumor. Although I'm not sure it's even at the level of a rumor yet.

I was quite surprised when this latest season started in Japan after the corona wreck (as they call it) that Japanese players were across the board fit and ready to rumble. Many in better shape than I have ever seen them. There may not have been the same facility in Thailand so Ajcharaporn better hurry and get up to speed if she wants to be part of the future of the JV.League :drink::) :rose:

  • leg 2 will feature a few new players, Thailand's Nootsara and Cuba's Yusleinis Herrera Alvarez will join Diamond Food VC and the young Indonesian OP, Megawatti will join Supreme Chonburi.

I'm interested to see how Megawatti will do. She will be a boost in the OP position and free Ajcharaporn back to full time OH, unless their roles are switched? We'll find out soon enough this weekend.

I wonder if 3bb or khonkaen got any reinforcements too?

  • I feel sad for the russian player. She didn't get much time, but then again, when she did, didn't help much either. I think 3bb should invest in a good setter to help them. I really don't like the style of setting that is shown majority of time in 3bb. They just stand and set, need to jump set to trick your opponents better to girls lol. Especially Tichaya, she's had lots of experience and been with the NT for a while now.

Kannika and Kaewkalaya are good players, but aren't enough to help Khonkaen win championship. Now if Pornpun and Thatdao was also with them, now, that's a different story. lol
