    The squad for the VNL was announced:



    Conte won't take part in the competition. It's uncertain whether he has retired or not.


    Honestly I have low expectations for this season, the level of most players has been poor lately.

    I have no idea how they are doing besides these pieces of info but with the NT they have looked like average players to me in the past. I suppose Kuka has improved a bit though.

    Ramos and Palonsky also played as OPs.

    I doubt Mendez would be still a libero.

    Koukartsev was SENSATIONAL this season, clearly the best Argentinian player in Europe - he was playing really well even against top Italian teams in European cups: he finally got a chance in decent league after great performances in Spain and it paid its dividends, I'd say.

    Argentina played two friendlies against Cuba. Lost the first one 3-0, won the second one with the same score.

    But the most important news is that Facu Conte has not retired from the NT. He'll be back after the VNL to prepare for the olympic qualifier.

    Palonsky is out injured.

    First time since 2013 in which De Cecco and Conte will play this competition together. Always one or both of them were absent.

    It will probably be the last sudamericano they play as well.

    The roster for 2024 VNL (and pool of players for olympics) is basically the same as last season without notable additions or omissions.



    There was a friendly against Cuba yesterday (today there'll be another one) before both teams travel to Brazil.
