  • 4T and her teammates are stronger now compared to a year ago. I think it will be close this time...a five setter maybe :cheesy:

the team vietnam beat was just a Thai league and it took them 5 sets to do it. but I know they will give Thailand a hard time. I think Thailand has dominated for almost 20 years maybe? and that's just not great as a spectator. takes half the fun if you already know who's going to win before the game even started.

I think at the Asian Club C’ships, 4T and her teammates needed one set or 1.5 set to warm up, then when they are fired up, it was hard to stop them. Liaoning and Diamond Food experienced this

You’re absolutely right, closely fought matches are exciting and entertaining :cheesy:

  • Vietnam is the contender for another tournament - the AVC Challenge Cup later this year as qualifier for the FIVB VNL Challenger Cup. No Japan, China, Thailand and Korea since they are VNL teams. I’m excited for that one too.

their biggest obstacle will be Kazahkstan. would love to see Vietnam take it though. but then there's Belgium

  • their biggest obstacle will be Kazahkstan. would love to see Vietnam take it though. but then there's Belgium

    And france,croatia,colombia

They are good butbin their own style, they only play in asia, generally these teams struggles facing another kind of game

Is the same happened to france last year

And also they are not ready yet for that step

  • Vietnamese players are reaching a professional level that the Vietnamese Vball federation isn’t yet ready for (at the moment financially to compete at international competitions, and in future years in terms of lacking the pipelines to train youth players to supply for the national team). However, I am very hopeful for them. They’ve done impressive work in the past few years with so little — you should see the sorry state of their training facilities and the shrimpy financial compensations they receive from the federation. Can’t wait for a packed year of competitions ahead :super:

I’m not expecting them to win that of course. But I would like to see them atleast qualify and be Asia’s rep on that tournament and get experience competing outside Asia for their future. It’s nice to see other countries being exposed to stronger competition also.

  • what about chinese taipei?

I remember in 2006 they qualify and did a good job and i think they beat poland or other teams and were top at their group

Then disappear in 2013 they took part in both under age wch and did quite a good job

  • I’ve read somewhere that Pornpun has a slight injury and will miss this SEA Games to rest and prepare for VNL. Chatchuon and Ajcharaporn are still in Turkey. All the others minus those 3 I guess?

I read a Facebook post just now in a vball group and it says both Ajcharaporn and Chatchu-On will be back for SEAGames. They’ll be back on May 6.

Previously, they were called back to prepare for the SEAGames much earlier and would have to miss their remaining Turkish league matches. But, after somewhat of a public outrage, they were allowed to continue playing in Turkey and will only have 3 days to practice with the Thai NT before SEAGames women’s vball matches start on May 9.
