Asian Women’s Volleyball Updates, Events and Discussions

  • No, Kurashiki isn’t through yet. I’m partly wrong though with the game today being the decider since it can still depend on the game on Friday, in case of a PLDT win.

If PLDT wins 3-0, they need to hope Creamline also beats Kurashiki 3-0. A Kurashiki win today vs PLDT will eliminate PLDT.

Scenario of Kurashiki not making it:

losing BOTH 0-3 to PLDT and Creamline.

  • I’m not seeing the Kurashiki v PLDT match queued up at the PVL videos site. Should I be worried?

    [Edit] It’s there now :woohoo:

  • Kurashiki players are all weird except #2 Saya Taniguchi

  • I popped out full screen and saw the chat and someone posted the score that is about 10 points ahead of where the youtube is at

  • PLDT looks like pure mess

  • The weather isn’t good here now and I thought there’s a chance the game might be cancelled. Good to know it is still on, and I’m not surprised there’s only a few people watching live

it’s typhoon “Doksuri” ... Korean for eagle .... I think it’s called by a different name in the Philippines... it’s nasty. The news here are showing hugh waves battering the coast...

    take care...

  • PLDT takes set 2 with Tubino-ball

  • 8| it looked like it was going one way after set 1, so I went to do something else :aww:

Why would you do that :/

I feel bad. In our new AVC minus Japan thread, I'm all ... loving this Japanese team :rolll:

  • I think they just said that by virtue of taking two sets Kurashiki has just clinched to the Final :super:

  • Why would you do that :/

Well if you must know, I went to have a closer look at the name "Asaka Tamaru"...Asaka would be her surname right? because it shows behind her Jersey, like Sarina Koga's Jersey showing "Koga" yet Asaka, which in Kanji means "morning in summer" is such a nice sounding first name and Tamaru is more indicative of a family name. Being curious..I went to vbox to find some answers..and would you believe it...her info was posted by a certain "sitenoise" who now have some explaining to do

Saki Tanabe has "Saki" on her jersey. The team seems to be about 50/50 first/last name jersey usage

    田丸明早夏 is Tamaru Asaka

    田丸=Tamaru 明早夏=Asaka

Last I saw she's at 25 points this match half way through set 4

A while I heard Mediol Yoku would be playing in K-league — any information on this?

She's no longer playing for GS Caltex. She was exchanged for a setter due to one of their main setters (Ahn Hyejin) being injured. Until recently it was Soraya from Thailand but now its Iris Tolenada (I was informed because of personal issues thats why Soraya didn't push through with K-League).

  • Pool for Asian Games is out! No Philippines in the Womens, only in the Mens. We are probably not qualified

could have several no-shows (PRK, AFG) for the obvious reasons

I guess RUS wasn't invited to this after all

  • Viet girls meeting supporters in France. Looks like a big family reunion (in fact, Lam Oanh’s relatives living in France came to support her and the team). :rose:
