  • Nakhon Ratchasima are the Champions of the Thailand Women’s Volleyball League (2023/2024). They beat Diamond Food 3-1 ( 29-27, 25-23, 20-25 and 25-16) in their last game (Final 4 round robin) today. Diamond Food were the favourites to win as they were unbeaten with 14 straight wins (in preliminary phase and final 4). However “Korat” saved their best for the last.

For Korat, Libero Nattaporn, Setters Sirima and Donphon, MBs Jarasporn and Waruni, and OH Sasipaporn all played well and 38 y.o. Onuma Sittirak put in an outstanding performance. Overseas players Kotoe Inoue, Briana Holman and Celine Domingo also contributed to today’s win, and reserve players Amornthip and Papatchana (MBs) and Kantima (OH) all played a part.

Sutadta (OH), and Kaewkalaya (MB) shone for Diamond Food. Overseas players Anastasiya and Misaki both had a relatively quiet day... they’re usually the go to players and both have delivered big time all season.

    🏆 Nakhon Rachatsima (Korat)

  • Today is the start of another year for Philippines' Premier Volleyball League (PVL), starting with the 1st All Filipino Conference :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

The tournament is composed of 12 teams, including 2 new teams that will debut today - Capital1 Solar Spikers and Strong Group Athletics.

Biggest movements during the off season came from the disbandment of F2 Logistics Cargo Movers (a team composed of veteran current & former NT players) which lead to their players joining different teams and the huge addition of Fil-American Brooke Van Sickle to Petro Gazz Angels coming from the US NCAA/University of Hawaii.

MJ Phillips who is playing in Korea is also listed on her home team's roster (Petro Gazz), while Celine Domingo who just recently finished her stint in Thailand will be joining another team - Akari Chargers. Jaja Santiago who is playing in Japan is in her home team's roster (Chery Tiggo), but well, she's always in their roster in the past tournaments even if she doesn't play so idk

The team roster, players photos, schedules, standing, and the livestream are all available on the league's website - https://pvl.ph. Player movements are detailed in the tournament's Wikipedia page (shoutout to whoever made this!) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…e_All-Filipino_Conference

  • Where did Iris Tolenada go after leaving GS Caltex, I couldn't find her anywhere, including the Wikipedia site that has everything, she's still listed in the F2 Logistics roster for 2023/24 in Volleybox, but I think they're no longer participating 🤔

I have no idea. Maybe she doesn't have a team yet, and will join PVL in another conference and not this ongoing one.

  • Natthaphon Srisamutnak “ Coach Ya “ has replaced Danai Sriwatcharamethakul “Coach Danai “ as head coach of the Thai Women’s NT. He will lead the team in their VNL 2024 campaign. Wilavan Apinyapong one of the famous “Fab Five” legendary players will be the new assistant coach. Danai will take up a coaching position with an Indonesia club.

Nice that wilavan will be part of coaching team! I hope onuma and thinkaow will be trainers in the future.

I actually liked danai! Do you think new coach is a better choice for the Thai team?

I like Danai also, but I think the TVA feels the new coach can bring new ideas, strategies to get better results in this year's VNL, compared to last year's performance. Let's give him a chance and see what happens :)

  • Southeast Asian Stars shone brightly in the Japanese League (V1) semi-finals on Sunday...with NEC’s Ajcharaporn from Thailand and JT’s Jaja with roots in the Philippines, both being awarded VOM.

Next weekend NEC and JT will meet in the Finals :cheesy:

Kurashiki Ablaze Assistant Coach Shota Sato, and former Kurashiki player Asaka Tamaru (they are a couple btw) will be part of a University's coaching staff in the Philippines :box: Coach Sato will be a Consultant while Tamaru will be an Assistant Coach.

  • It is said that in Vietnam League 2023/24, as the main OH of Xi măng Long Sơn Thanh Hóa, Cai Xiao-qing got at least 47 points (even maybe 51 points! 42 attacks/3 blocks/5 serves) in the match against VTV Bình Điền Long An on March 19!

PS: In the official news, it is only said that Cai Xiao-qing got 42 points. It may be the spike points without blocks and serves.
