I also think Kwiek may be fired. DR is a team with an excellent libero and good attackers, however they havent won anything in the last years, or well, they havent won anything. Of course, I mean in the international area, because in the panamerican tournments, DR is always between the top 4. I guess the only international achievement they have got is the bronze medal in WGCH 2009.
In addition, DR has many years in the GP with Kwiek as coach, but they always finish in the second half of the final standing. So, it is time they look for a new coach. Kwiek has never shown a real line up. He changes in every single tournment.
Btw, he is also very stubborn with Echenique, who is one of the worst setters I have ever seen. What a pity she doesnt take advantage of the of the good spikers.

USA´s defensa looks much better in this match.
Harmotto is blocking almost everythingBtw, after the good match Dominican Republic played yesterday and this italian team with some subs, the caribbeans should win
-
Giel is a very good MB. If she seems just OK this summer, it is because of the new cuban setters. During the PanAmerican Cup, Giel was a monster too. Now Cuba is without Cleger and Marcillan

Congratulations to Brazil! They won it again. I thought it will be 3x1, however Argentina fought till the end.
3x2 (19:25, 25:20, 25:19, 24:26, 15:10)
In the 4th set, Argentina was 21-24. They scored 5 points in the row. Nicolas Uriarte was superb with the serves.

Last time Bulgaria beat Brazil was in the 1986 WCH
It was 3x2 -
After a cold beginning, Bulgaria is playing well. Filipova is doing a good job. I expect more from Vasileva. She hasnt scored any point by attack yet, but she has blocked twice.
Garay 8 pts

Let´s hope the nerves wont kill Bulgaria.
Brazil didnt perform so well yesterday against Dominican Republic. However, Brazil had a hidden weapon: dominican setter Karla EcheniqueIt is always a pleasure to see Gabi in the court. Yesterday she did a good job

Last southamerican spot will go to Colombia or Chile.
Venezuela is a mystery. I havent seen them playing since many months ago.

I thought Poland vs Germany could be an interesting match, but unfortunately not.
It looked like the only match to watch this day.Let´s see if Germany holds the rhythm

Matienko? She is one of the worst setters I have ever seen.

Crongratulations to USA! First time in a final of this category. They played with a lot of calm in the last points.
What a pity for Peru...these girls played with all the heart during the 5th set. China did the same against Japan: from 10-14 to 14-14.. However, Japan won that match.
Tomorrow will be a southamerican battle for the bronze medal. This 5th set was full of drama.ngratulations to ch
Congratulations to China! -
Congratulations to Brazil, USA, China and Peru!
China did a gusty comeback. The 4th set was the key of the match. Once China won it, they just swept the court with the dominicans. However, it was a great effort by the caribbeans. Brayelin Martinez will be a great startPeru beat another european team. What a match! Like semisonic said, they played with so much heart during all the match. More in the 2nd and 5th set. Natalia Malaga encouraged their players in the 5th set

Wow!
Italy vs Brazil was a real fight. Congratulations Brazil! 5 match thriller. Anastasia Guerra and Nicoletti never appeared. As well as their service.Congratulations to Peru! They played almost a perfect match. The defense was like a japanese team Serbia will be a tough rival.
Congratulations to Rep. Dominican too! 3 latinoamericans teams in!

Italy swept China Taipei 3x0 (25-14, 25-10, 25-11). The italians errors has dicreasead a lot. Now just 16.
Meanwhile, Dominican Republic beat Slovenia 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-23). However, there was a weird situation. After the europeans won the 1st set, which meant to avoid Turkey in the next round, Slovenia changed almost all its team. Just one starter on the court. Also, suddenly, they start to mistake a lot...
It seems they wanted to avoid Italy in the next round too. So, their next rival is PeruNext round matches:
USA vs China Taipei
Italy vs Brasil
Peru vs Slovenia
Turkey vs Dominican Republic. -
Oh! What a pity for Argentina! Congratulations to Greece!
Argentina just need to win a point in the next match against China in order to secure a spot in 2nd round. Difficult job.
Japan is amazing. Beating 3-0 Poland! A team which is so tall, while japanese are shorter.I watched the Turkey vs Peru match and during the first 2 sets, I didnt see a winner. It was an equal game. Turkey has Pelin, while Peru has Leyva, who is superb in attack. Peru struggled a lot in the passing. Why? Because in this WCH, the second OH was MB some weeks before the tournment. Her passing isnt good. Definitely, Peru is the dark horse.
Pool C winner is USA. Slovenia vs Rep. Dominican Republic will decide the last standings. The caribbeans need a 3-0 victory in order to avoid Turkey in next round.

I am very surprised! I didnt expect these results.
First, congratulations Argentina!!! Like I said, they are a good team, but in a difficult pool. We beat 3-0 Japan, the asian champions!!! However, this score doesnt confirm our pass to the next round. We have to go step by step.
In the other hand, congratulations Peru! What a come back! Peruvians defended like asians. The tallest player in Peru is 184 cms, while Itala has more than 6 over 185 cms. If Italy mistook a lot, it´s cuz their main weapon is the service. Italy destroyed the peruvian passing in the first 2 sets.
Slovenia is the underdog here. Let´s see what they can do against Brazil and Dominican Republic
-
Turkey improved a lot with the change of libero.
I am very surprised by the BRA vs DOM score: 25-08???!!! DOM already beat Brazil in the U18 Pan American Cup, and many players were in the JWCH in Czech Republic. What a pity of Argentina. They have a good team, but their pool is difficult.

Vettori 29 points! Wow!
Congratulations to Italy! What a pity Bulgaria, 5th time they lost the chance to be in WL podium
