    Greek influenced Latin a lot. Romans were warriors, first of all, great 'soldiers'. They were stronger than greeks militarily, but greek culture (astronomy, philosophy, etc.) was more developed when they conquered Greece. One great ancient greek scholar said one day that the romans "are conquered" by the greeks too in reference to the influence of greek culture over the romans. Language isn't different. A lot of portuguese words came directly from Latin. Nevertheless, when you make a deep research you find that a lot of those words came from greek indirectly. They have greek roots. We can build a big dictionary with them. Study Ancient Greek and Latin made me understand a big ammount of portuguese words and more than this portuguese gramar. I was able to understand better portuguese grammar and also other latin languages after Ancient Greek and Latin comprehension. Portuguese syntax became clear. Obviously, morphology also. Same Spanish, Italian and French.
    Probably a latin language speaker can learn Ancient Greek easier than the others, but it isn't difficult even for them. There are a lot of Latin scholars from England (one of the best books to learn Latin is "Reading Latin" printed by Cambridge University Press :win: ), Germany and other countries with many different languages.

    PS: French people much prefer French to English for sure. But here only a few speak portuguese. If their interlocutor doesn't speak French they usually prefer to speak English. :thumbsup:

    You did great this season....I know we dont have much chances against Piacenza....but they did beyond we could expect already! So proud! ^^

    Congratulations girls! Now we will have a hard time against Piacenza, but I belive!
    By the way, Fabris played one more good game for Chieri! I really like this girl!

    I think Di Iulio made two very poor matches the last one..and Foppa really missed her in attack, cause she was our safe ball all season. But in tie-break again she was really important, and played like she had done so far over all.


    The team must work in defense...that is the way Foppa must play this season...


    and please Devetag must be starter! I love Zambelli she is a great girl..but Devetag is much better blocker than her.


    Piacenza is stronger than Foppa, no doubt...their attack power is impressive...and I also think Foppa dont have chances...specially If they play like they did in last two games....but well...Foppa is Foppa..Ill be always cheering and supporting them. ^^


    BTW..I think is far Foppa in semifinal....the club didnt make any crazy investments cause we dont have the money...but pays everything for the girls...instead of Chieri....you cant sign players as Piccinini, Guiggi, and not expect to pay them! :down:

    Unfortunately it's true :( There are rumours that Villa's presidente Radice is not interested anymore in investing his money in volleyball...he doesn't have money problems, so probably he's tired..he spent so much money and won nothing in the last 4 years...

    volleyball.it says that Bosetti and Folie should go to the new team that will be held in Modena, that will take the rights from Villa...so I don't know if Bosetti will go to Busto!

    it wasn't a great game yesterday, maybe the girls felt the pressure but in the first two sets it wasn't the Foppa I saw during the season, and also in the others they didn't play a perfect game! anyway I'm really happy they managed to pass the turn. now Piacenza, it is nearly impossible but I'll support them till the end...who knows :whistle:
    hope that Diouf and Di Iulio find a better game and condition, and also Weiss (I didn't like her that much yesterday)...
    anyway go Foppa!!!! :super: :love:
