Quite a few surprises today. Wiesbaden after surprisingly beating Muszyna in CEV Cup loses even more surprisingly against Hamburg, Vilsbiburg just manages to win against VCO in 5 sets and Straubing beats Schwerin in a breathtaking match. I watched only 5th set but there was an amazing atmosphere in the hall. At 13-13 the referee missed a clear touch of Schwerin's block, Karmen Kocar nearly jumped at the referee's throat :D But Straubing could defend Schwerin's match point and win the match.

    Tomorrow Straubing - VCO Berlin.

  • there are many problems with stats sheets in this season

In case you mean that some of them look strange, with letters instead of numbers, that seems to be a problem of Adobe browser extension, because when you download the stats sheet and open them normally with Adobe Reader they look perfectly normal.

And I just noticed that with the newest version of Firefox they also work normally again.

I have only problems with firefox. With opera it seems to be ok.....

  • Aachen has major financial problems, they say they don't know yet if they can finish the season and they're desperately looking for new money, they want to decide until the end of the year. I think they exaggerate a bit in their description of the situation in order to acquire more sponsors, if the situation really was that bad VBL would have "taken care" of it already.

Meanwhile Thüringen is close to signing another MB because Christina Speer will be out some more time with an illness and with Jordanne Scott having to play as MB there is no backup hitter on bench at the moment.

  • Potsdam-Thüringen turns out to be the most interesting Cup match in this round, Potsdam had match point in 3rd set but couldn't use it and now it goes to 5th.

Erika Salanciova is a very interesting player. I haven't watched her before, she's very powerful and athletic, if she can improve her technical skills and become more solid she can play on a high level I think...overall Thüringen plays with a lot of passion and energy while Potsdam looks like they just want to get this over quickly.

MVP: Kim Renkema / Karmen Kocar

Köpenick had two match points in 4th set and apparently there was some uproar in the hall. I didn't watch the match but in the scoresheet is written that at 24:24 a fan was throwing a drumstick at the 1st referee :white: (but missed him). In 5th set Köpenick with 9 :!: errors :aww:
Meanwhile Straubing can only play well at home and Potsdam can't play well anywhere. They made some of the biggest transfers of the league but grossly underperform so far. And they are not missing any important players...

  • Münster - Thüringen 3:0 (25:19 25:21 26:24)

MVP: Esther van Berkel / Britt Bongaerts

Guidetti will be happy, so many Dutch MVPs :D I think Bongaerts will surely be better than Stoltenborg very soon, she just needs more experience.

    Ranking:
    1 Schwerin 6 5 17:6 15

    13 VCO Berlin 7 0 3:21 1

  • Wiesbaden - Aachen 3-0....

Aachen's reception didn't exist today in big parts of the match...and Wiesbaden was really good in block-defense...

Britt Bongaerts again MVP...If I remember correctly she was MVP in all matches so far..

She will be soon a very tough opponent for Dijkema in Dutch NT, if she continues like this.

  • @ Mathhias

    Indeed.

Why not taking Britt already to Ankara, instead of Stoltenborg ??? Britt makes NO technical mistakes and she is developing really fast..Britt is also a good server and decent defender...

The only thing she lacks is indeed experience..

  • In the first three matches of Aachen Dora Grozer was MVP, in the next three (including Cup match) it was Bongaerts :win:

    Thanks for correcting me :win:

  • I think in Ankara you would want experience because there is very little time to prepare, many important matches in short time, so there is no time to integrate a young setter into the team. But I think for 2016 summer Bongaerts has very good chances to take Stoltenborg's spot in NT.

Agree. But, unfortunately Femke has the most experience in making technical mistakes
