It was a little bit strange to see Taubate playing consistently pretty much from the beginning to the end of that match. I guess Renan might be having some impact - the one thing he seems to do well is making the right substitutions. I Always like the low key battle going on - Marcelo as the undisputed coach in many people's eyes, with Renan who many are still trying to decide whether he is the best coach or not lol. Renan in the end got this first one.

I still cant work out the Douglas/ Conte substitution deal. They seem to contribute equally most of the time, so I guess its more about deciding who fits more for which match. Conte made 7 or 8 points in this match, and the passing was so-so.. Lucarelli really showed his class in this match as the dependable and effective outside hitter he has been in the national team.

Douglas has been much better throughout the league, but he has some back pain right now. When the Argentinan coach was still there, he obviously put Conte in order to favor him.

Douglas & Lucarelli are the best OH duo for Brazil NT right now. So excited to see them on court for the upcoming international tournament.

FALSE INFORMATION.

Lucarelli and Douglas were the starting OH duo since the beginning of season. Conte got to play only when one of Lucarelli-Douglas were not playing well, or when one of them were unable to play.

here`s the stats and you can check it out every single game, and we all can see your claims are FALSE. Castelani never started with Conte or let him play in order to favor him.

Douglas was very inconsistent last season with Sesi, Lipe (injured) had to replace him very often. Douglas only started for the NT this summer because Mauricio and Lucarelli were out, of course he made the best out of it. But this season with Taubate he has not proved anything, maybe injuries prevented him, but after all his season has been just OK. Now with the return of Lucareli and Mauricio plus Leal, Douglas will have to earn his spot in the NT.

I had to point it out. Because the other day just because I made a mistake by saying Natalia played one game as OPP Sidney basically called me ignorant and said that everything I say is "BS" and I should know better.

So imagine if I was the one to say a coach favored a player because they are from the same country?? I`m pretty sure everyone would say I`m just starting drama and call it BS.

So yeah....he should know better. Castelani never started or brought Conte in over Douglas or Lucarelli. Which means....It is BS to say Castelani did it....and the stats just prove it.

he got fired because Douglas Lucarelli Visotto ...and the whole team was not getting the job done. They were loosing and not playing well. Plus Lucarelli is coming from a injury. Douglas has been injured. A 40 year old setter and OPP r past their prime. Of course he had to make changes and try new things with the team not playing well.

Look at the stats. Game 2 of the regular season Conte started but Douglas is not even on the stats. He surely was not health and that's why he did not even play.

Remember this team failed at the Copa Libertadores and Brazil Cup. I think Douglas and Lucarelli started that game and they still lost in the semis.

If Sidney thinks Castelani favored Conte it is fine. But he should use "I Think" or "in my opinion ". That would be different.

And that's no proof he did in fact favor Comte. Once again he did not so Sidney is just speculating and starting drama with those claims.

anyways . It is the same thing when Brazilians users were saying Guidetti was favoring Sloetjes and keeping Sheila on the bench.

Oh one more thing.

When Taubate signed Douglas their plan was probably to have him as a backup. And I remember exactly a lot of fans saying that was a stupid move for Douglas to be a backup for Lucarelli-Conte. He was still young and he should be playing for team full time and not sitting on the bench. And the reason he went to Taubate to be a backup is because he certainly did not feel comfortable to start for a big team and neither a big team would be comfortable with him starting.

But Mauricio`s injured during VNL and Lucarelli not returning changed everything. He went to the WCH and came back with a silver and best OH award. But before the WCH no one could predict Douglas would have done so well.

So Castelani already did him a big favor for turning him into a starter ahead of Conte right away. Conte was supposed to be the stater when he signed with Taubate. Same for Uriarte. Otherwise do you guys really think Taubate would spend a lot $$ for 2 backups??? Of course not.

Now I`m done.

I watched the 1st game of Sada vs Taubate. I have to say Taubate played a nice game. Vissotto normally was a weak point, but he delivered a decent attack % in this game. Douglas' ace at the end of set 4 was crucial.

Taubate still has a long way to go if they want to defeat Sada in this 5-game series. Remembered they led at 2:0 in last season, but Sada turned the table and eliminated Taubate by winning three games in a row.

In another semi, SESC-RJ played horribly, esp Wallace had one of his worst games in this season, while Alan Souza played good for SESI-SP.

dude. Douglas has been injured all season long. Just like Natalia with Fenerbache. She brought her injury from the NT. Douglas brought some injury from the NT. As you can see Game 2 Douglas`s name is not even on the stats. and I told you this already.. GAME 2...which means Douglas was already injured or dealing with something.

Why did Douglas not start against Cruzeiro? Because he`s not health. Again....He has been dealing with this back problem all season long. And in case u dont know Lucarelli also is coming from a injury. Which also means he might have not been able to start every game.

And I will say it again. Taubate signed Conte to be a starter. Do you really think Taubate has money to sign Conte for him to be a backup? OF COURSE NOT....

Douglas`s case is similar to Sylla....before the season started everyone had doubts about Sylla playing for Conegliano....but her performance in the WCH changed everything.....Danesi is another example.

I will say it again.....Taubate signed Conte to be a starter and Douglas to be a backup. But Douglas performance in the WCH changed everything for Taubate`s plan.

First game Douglas takes only 7 swings? Why is that??.....Of course something was not right and that`s why they did not even set him much.....That`s why he is absent from Game 2.

And if you look further. There`s a bunch of games where Douglas got very little sets.....why is that?? Of course something was wrong with him.

Once again. Taubate signed Conte to be a starter and Douglas to be a backup. But Castelani went ahead and let Douglas become a starter right in the first game.....And he probably still played some games while injured...that`s why here we are at the end of the season and he`s still not health. Same thing happened with Natalia, she had to play some games while injured and by the end of the season she was still injured.
