I wonder how Mexico would do if they hosted the senior WCH. With some help from FIVB I think they would do great. At least Mexican fans shows up unlikely the Japanese fans.

Nice overtime heart murmurs . The farther past 25it goes , the more likely Russia wins

Lol, i was not saying these players wont become anything. I was trying to show what their weaknesses are. If you watched the matches, you could see how Merve moves in attacking.
This is what happens when you are 19 and spend a whole season on the bench. So when you get court time you feel like a fish out of water.
But again she's 19...a lot of years to improve... Of course that won't happen of she stays on the bench. Just Practicing with Boskovic, Kim and Natalia won't get her anywhere.

Well there ya go. I'm happy for Russia, not really a fan and I think Turkey is a better team but Russia wanted it more. Turkey's happy just developing players for the future. Losing's not a big deal

So I woke up at 3a.m. just to discover that they were still playing for the third place
-
congrats, RUS, on the bronze medal.
the commentary from the mexican TV has been often pretty inane and sometimes ignorant. i remember there was one point in which someone hit a huge spike but she stepped on the 3m line, and they didn’t know what the infraction was.
there was once a 2nd woman commentator, and she was more knowledgeable, being a former player.

According to the narrators, the match will probably starts around 3.50 - 4 am CET.
-
the matches are often delayed due to the preceding one. the scheduling could use some work. yesterday i went to bed past 1 am, because it started so late (ITA x TUR).
-
it was supposed to start at 9, and it is already 9:22. it’ll probably be late by 90 minutes.
-
well, you can watch the one that just ended in the meanwhile:

The best way to tell we're getting close is to check the FIVB schedule. When it changes from 'start time' to '0-0' that means they're singing the national anthems
-
btw didn’t watch many matches, but i thought brovkina was a monster. she’s very promising.

She needs to choose the right team where she won't sit on the bench.

i think not just MEX, but also CAN, TUR, NED/BEL, POL, THA etc. could host the senior WCh and do a good job.

In general, latino crowds are amazing. Usually showing up, packing the arenas, cheering up even for other teams, sometimes too passionate, and so on.
Mexico has been host of many U20 and U18, maybe more than 5 times in the last 10 years. So far, they have improved a lot, because some years ago it was almost impossible to follow even the livescore.
This year the problem was the heavy rains that delayed so many matches in one of the host cities. Even flooding the pavilion: https://bit.ly/2JUhxGN

wow, Japan 6-1
