International fans who thought MuteKada was low key are going to love Yoshihara. She never gets off her chair

The only JPN player who actually made an impact on the her new Team and improved herself mentally and technically after the oversea stint, i can think of now is Shin. She played for Vincenza (IIRC) while still being at her top form and had loads of quality court time as one of the main scorer for this Series A Team during 2005-2006 season. Shin had been already rather agressive on court to begin with, and became even more so after that. Her game was superb in 2006 and 2007.
Comparisons with Shin is not very common. She's not a popular player that still gets mentioned to this day among Japanese fans. You very rarely come across anyone who is familiar with her.
This "Shin" is who I thought it was from the little I've seen of old stuff. She certainly stands out. I'm intrigued why she doesn't have any resonance today. Not that it matters much to anything, but from what I have seen of her she carried herself on court like she was a force. Maybe just not likeable. No high school Championships

I think that's due to her having no exposure, a lot like Arisa Takada. She is on instagram but she's not close to any volleyball players who are still active on the scene. No clubs mention her as an OG. She didn't have any intention of coaching afaik so basically she doesn't appear anywhere at all.

I went through articles of possible coaches to replace Nakada but so far Yoshihara is the only one the press focuses on. That Hochi article states that Aihara is not being considered.
In 2019, Suntory's former coach, Katsutoshi Tsumagari, was on the radar to replace Nakada but his name has completely disappeared now.
Tsumagari is one of the finest male liberos in Japan. I'm not familiar with his time in Sunbirds so I can't say if he was a good coach.

Isn't he on the men's coaching staff?
From Mayu's ig. Who cropped Nakada out? 😂

Men's NT, since 2017.
I thought you meant the coaching staff in the women's team since you showed that photo

😂 That picture was about Nakada being cut from the picture.

Yoshihara doesn't do a lot of instructing during V. League she leaves it mostly to Kobata. Drews doesn't even need a translator when she's playing unlike Foluke and Kulan. Yoshihara only really gets intense when it's time to rough it out during championships which is probably why JT manages to beat Toray towards the end and snatch everything away from them I like to think there's a cunningness that we don't see but I don't wanna get way ahead here...

Nikkan Names Melissa Valdes and Nishida in the “30 Stars to Watch for Paris 2024”
Wild. They're putting so much pressure on Valdes already.
-
Why did she go to PFU? Will they be able to train her properly there? seems like an odd choice. PFU's coach is an absolute narcissist who feels the need to insert himself in everything the players do.

there has to be a better way to phrase this. hentai
icb they already named her when koga exists. she's not even in the nt yet

I think it's a good thing she went to PFU. Coach's personality aside, it's almost certain she's going to be a starter there than join a higher ranked team only to be benched.

It sounds a little graphic than intended lol

But when Mayu went to Toray they didn't bench her. I doubt any team with a promising NT hopeful will bench a star in the making.
sean1 I ...didn't realize it could be interpreted that way but you guys get it

How old is she? very lanky but has a strong whip since her arms are so long and an incredible vertical to boot. They better nurture her.

They're different. Mayu can receive, Valdes does not. I can't see Valdes in a team where there's already a non-receiving import.

Definitely the next Nagaoka
