Japan is playing without Ishikawa & Nishida. Now they're leading in the first set.

25-17 Japan takes first set

Shoji can play for another 10 years in NT, this libero is so bad.
-
JPN and USA literally just exchanging sideouts in set 4, hope JPN can extend to a tie break
-
Wow. Great fight by Japan. I thought USA was going to end it in 4 sets but they couldn’t manage to close it. Let’s see what the tie break will bring in
-
Great job Japan to make it to the tiebreak, but USA is playing really bad tbh, the bad sets from Tuaniga and their service errors (as always) are just killing them, plus this libero can never dig a ball.

Why is this libero even a starter is the real crime here

True lol

The libero and the setter from the US are awful. Did Kawika retire? Could he be worst than that?
-
Do you guys think those service errors are being caused by this new rule? I haven’t watched all games due to the fact that I am in different time zone but I have seen some parts and highlights of all games and I noticed there some teams are making more service errors. I have read a recent Grbic interview in which he criticized this new rule. He said he thinks concentration is important when serving and this new rule does not make it possible for players.

I remember someone said he retired from the NT? But I’m not 100% sure. I wonder where Ma’a is, he’s not even in the wide list.

I don’t think USA is troubled by this new rule. They have always had such ridiculous amount of errors from the service line anyway.

Ma'a is taking some time off citing family reasons and also working on his "Out of System" brand.

I really don't think new rule has impacted a lot to service. 15 seconds is sufficient time to concentrate yourself to serve.

To me, Ma’a is the same as Tuaniga. They both play in Poland. Both of their teams aren't strong teams. Ma'a will make no difference with bad reception US did today.

This tall Opp of USA looks promising. Not really a good jumper but he’s tall enough and hits the ball really hard.
-
It was so much fun to watch Brazil but the team is boring af lately, thanks to Renan.
Can Tuaniga set 1 ball to Mitchem? It looks like he doesn't know hot to set middle quick to a super tall middle and keeps avoiding.
Opponents don't have any data for Hanes, all of his fav angles are open. He has a good % but I'm not impressed for future.
-
Bruno is a fucking mess today and I'm starting to be fully convinced that Flávio is not fit for this level. I used to like him a lot, but he's just a liability with all his errors.
