By the way, it has been reported today in Bulgaria that Teodor Todorov signed indeed with Gazprom-Ugra, only if for the CEV Cup. No confirmation elsewhere, so I would wait a bit as usual.
Confirmed. Todorov played for Gazprom-Ugra in the CEV Cup encounter against CEZ Karlovarsko last night. The Russians lost at home and unless they do some work in the Czech Republic, this could be the shortest-life transfer after Leonardo Leyva Martinez' journey in Ziraatbank. It would be a pity because he seems in good shape after the long break. 7 block points is a great number.
-
Todorov was excellent yesterday thanks to him and Brđović run from service line they won 1st set after 10:15 but other Ugra players were tragic. In 3rd set ČEZ Karlovarsko won 13 pts (!!) in row on setter Končal serve. In general Czechs destroyed them with service and block-defense

Ivan Komarov from Dynamo Krasnodar I suppose? Why the hell they signed him?

Jeff Ptak retired from volleyball. It was really heartbraking: he had a career ending injury during the third game of the LVSM Finals, he torn Achilles' tendon. Right after he officially announced his retirement from volleyball, saying his body has had enough at the age of 37.
In the last game his team looked completely lost without him. Guaynabo won the championship 4-0 against his Caribes de San Sebastian. He's like a legend or an hero in the island. He's receiving love from all the people (even opponents), players and local federation.

Are you sure it's not Valery Komarov instead, the libero? Ziraatbank already has 2 foreign opposites, another one makes absolutely no sense, whereas hiring a libero, albeit a foreign one, might help them in the Challenge Cup.

Some transfers from Russia
Finnish NT OPP Olli-Pekka Ojansivu joined Kuzbass Kemerovo as German OH Sebastian Schwarz left Siberian club.
OPP Oleg Krikun left Ugra Samotlor Nizhnevartovsk and joined NOVA.
Dunno what's the point of having Ojansivu in Kemerovo as 2nd foreigner. Poletaev is playing brilliant this season and I wonder how Sammelvuo is going to fit Ojansivu in team.
-
And it's confirmed: Travica in Modena since tomorrow.
No idea if he will be there to help when needed, to be titular or what. -
