Congratulations to the very young Russian squad!
The result is in my opinion not that surprising:
1. Russia has with 140 millions inhabitants a huge arsenal of (good) players
2. In the Dutch team you see that Chaine Staelens is not in her best form since her comeback form a severe knee-injury. It's normal that she needs time to get at her normal level. Further Debby Stam is still injured; Caroline Wensink plays at her position. So both outside-hitter-positions are weak at the moment and when you play against topteams like Russia than it's very difficult. For the WCQ Tournament in Almere, I think Anne Buijs deserves a real chance as outside hitter instead of Chaine Staelens.

I am surprised too. I didn't expect them to win after losing to Japan.
It seems Kosheleva is getting a lot of sets like 43 balls compared to 25 of Pasynkova and Naumova. It is good that she is able to convert them to points.
The most surprising is the performance of Borodakova. Wow, 11/15 in attacks. That is so good. Also, with Murtazaeva. I think the middle players are performing well.
I really wonder why Makarova is not playing ......

looks like borodakova is a rising middle blocker star which is quite unusual for a russian player because normally the stars of the national team of russia are outside hitters.
