World League 2013

  • Does in previous matches in Bulgaria challenge system was used?

I guess nope, but I need confirmation ^^

  • Is there challenge system anywhere outside Poland? 8|

  • These cameras are pretty costly. There wasn't challenge sys in France and Brasil, I think in Reno too, although I didn't see the games there

  • Why yes for sure if FIVB don't make this mandatory, we won't use them because of the money. The federation doesn't want to give any more money that it's really really really needed. I mean they didn't even try to find direct flight from Bulgaria to Reno or from USA to Brazil or from Brazil to Bulgaria. Nope the federation tries to get something without investing anything at all.

  • I don't think that there direct flights from Bulgaria to Reno and from Reno to Brazil or from Brazil to Bulgaria. Not that I support our federation, but getting direct flights like that would be extremely expensive.

  • Who's paying for the Hawk Eye actually? The team's federation, the owners of the hall or the media broadcaster?

  • Yes, no such thing like a direct flight from Bulgaria to the USA. You should go at least to Istanbul first :)

  • And yet Polish federation paid for charter flight to Bulgaria (and they have the Hawk Eye so in the end it is about the money).

Please, charter Poland-Bulgaria, Varna is something common. Media said like 20 000 EUR which is not that much for 40 people players and staff probably. Try to get one to Reno from Sofia, not to mention that the jet has to refuel somewhere so it will not be direct in any way.

  • I don't condone the federation for that. This was just example. Sorry wrong one.

The point is our federation doesn't want and don't have too much money to spend (though sometimes it's really not wanting to spend it for the sport, but for themselves and not so much of not having it). We know that volleyball is not priority one sport in our country. So they won't give money for the Hawk Eye which was the original question. That's just the way the things are here and we all know it. No need to bore the other fans with this, but we all know that the least our team is doing in World league/Olympics etc is not because of our federation, but pure luck that some good volleyball players had been born here.

  • I think we've got the same theory

Dear specialists, please, do explain your theory to us, the shepherds. Where have you seen such a system outside Poland? Maybe only in Italy, as far as I remember. And since when has Bulgaria been a part of your global conspiracy theory?

  • Ha ha why all the fuss? We know that conspiracies are everywhere. Brasil want to fuck Bulgaria over because they are not only very afraid but they also hate us and are jealous of us because we are very awesome. Bulgaria on the other hand is preparing specia

Nope, I never stated anything like this. And I don't think I will have the reasons to do so. From the two comments I quoted, however, I got a different attitude that pissed me off. I hope it's not what they really meant, but reading the lines again it's namely what I understand. Whatever.

And the "shepherd" comes around again  I was just asking, because I expect a fair game today. These are important matches, not some shit. If there was no challenge system in Bulgaria before, today it should be. I suppose the game will be really tight and teams would like to check the points many times.
And stop treating yourself like the special ones, or a victims of something. It's enough to say one stupid negative word about referees in Bulgaria, team in Bulgaria, fans in Bulgaria and the defenders are coming.

  • Special agent Ruciak in match 12 for today. Igła is out. Jarosz will be a starting OPP most likely. Winiar with knee injury, donnu if he'll be able to play ;(

Guys, I won't be with you today on forum during match. It drives me crazy. I hope you won't kill each other with words. Play nice ;)

Hmm... you didn't answer about the theory, which makes me think otherwise, but I will forget about it. I agree with you about the challenge system, there should be one, in fact, it should be made obligatory, but unless mass changes happen in FIVB or CEV, I don't see it coming. About this specific game only, the sports hall in Varna is, sorry to be the one saying that, relatively bad and not appropriate for top level volleyball. Forget the monetary side and who should provide the equipment, I just don't see how such cameras can be installed in Varna technically. Unfortunately, I expect none in the near future. Maybe Sofia holds the key to some hope, but not for time being.

Last, and I hope it is the last time we really talk about it even if it's always Polish users giving us reasons to reopen the topic again and again, we don't act like we are special or something. Here, in this specific example, I see a "special" country complaining about equipment other countries don't have or can't afford (for whatever reasons). So, yes, Polish users and their attitude do not appear less special ;) I also find some Poles arrogant and irritating, but I wouldn't generalize about all of them. The "defenders" part you wrote about is ridiculous. Please, read back carefully the two consecutive comments I quoted, think again how they sound, and then come and call me whatever you want.

    END! :offtopic:
