Qualification tournament for the World Grand Prix 2008

In 1994 Brazil hosted the Women World Championship and in 1995 Brazil hosted one pool of the World Grand Prix.

In 2002, Brazil was supposed to host the Women's World Championship but due to the lack of infrastructure of the Brazilian Gymnasiums, the Brazilian Federation gave up and then Germany was chosen.

I guess the problem with Brazil is the lack of infrastructure in the Gymansiums, after the Pan-Am Games we have more infrastructure. Anyway, if some Asian countries can host the WGP, I don't see why Brazil doesn't have infrastructure to host international FIVB events. Our gymnasiums are not that bad!

Very strange match. Serbia dominated fot two sets, then Italy dominated for other two sets. At the end a very balanced 5th set.

The most beautiful set it was the 5th!! It was point by point. Until the end you couldn't know who was going to win! Heartbreaking for me!!!

Serbia spoiled two match points, first Nikolic touched the net when Guiggi spiked out, then Cebic tried to defend an attack of Ortolani that would have gone out as well.

Yes Justyna. After OG 2008 WGP will have a new formula. Poland will play in 2009 and 2010 WGP.
