    Of course I am sad to see USA lose in the semis. But I think the last 2 years has probably been the most exciting for Women's Teams. Who would have thought a NED team would have done so well, Even a Russian team who has always been up and down, Serbia's youngsters really playing top notch. The USA winning the WCH for the first time. And these teams have had a lot of new players. The only team with the same players would be Brazil.


    So I would have to say this has been a pretty exciting time in Women's Volleyball. I won't bash any player, any team or any coach or secone guess because no one wants to lose and they all have worked hard to make it to the Olympics and the other tournaments.

    In both semifinals, the results from the preliminaries were reversed. I expect the same to happen tomorrow...USA came to win Gold, for NED any medal is a sensation so I believe they will be much hungrier. In the preliminary match CHN-SRB China played their worst match and Serbia their best, if both teams play more "normal" in the final I believe China will take the revenge as well.

    USA staff took “THE” winning lottery ticket and lit it on fire.



    • I said in crisis the USA staff will not have the answers and the players know (knew it). It was all on them. Kiraly, Black, Morrison (did you not learn anything from Gio?), Dumphy, Trinsey all “number guys” with arguably the least amount of women’s international coaching experience in the Olympics.


    • Frontrunners without the necessary experience or the knowledge of women’s volleyball to make those subtle adjustments needed to come from behind. Like most numbers “guys” substitutions are about the only adjustments they could make without losing complete control of the match.


    • Say this out loud; Serbia played with TWO outsiders (4 hitters) and in the 4th set Malesevic played for the USA so it looked like 7 vs. 5.


    • USA arrogance again quickly turned to panic only a greater scale with higher stakes. “That’s probably the best Serbia has ever played” this from Banwarth. Banwarth has only been relevant for a handful of years now so she is not experienced to know how well Serbia can or has played.


    • And let’s not forget that this staff have been taking credit for “coaching their way” hmmm these players spend upwards of 9-10 months overseas and 2 months with their national team. Many of the best coaches in the world prepared these players, taught them how to play international volleyball and in one fell swoop; beaten by a team with 4 hitters.


    • Thompson decision was a chemistry based decision; hmmm, sure would have been nice to have another hitter since Robinson is clearly not at this level and Hill was reduced to a serving specialist. I will not take away MVP from Hill at WC but if my memory serves me correct we could have just as easily made the same cases for Murphy.


    • I saw Robinson and Larson crumble, and the Serbian serve force Glass to destroy Murphy. At that point until Lowe came in the Serbians turned into a 5 vs. game.


    • Tell me again why two-left handers? And tell me why you have these left handed players running around the passers when both Murphy and Lowe are perfectly capable of scoring from there (Just look at Murphy at WC’s). Blocking matchups, I get it, but that’s why two left handed oppos is just not very intelligent decision.


    I don’t feel sorry for the result; it’s sport and this happens. I feel sorry for the fact that not one USA coach had any answers before the left for Rio and yesterday to help arguable the best teram in the tournament. Unprepared!


    Kiraly for 4 more years as Serbian fan YES PLEASE!!!

    I want Serbia to win so bad, I just love how they play, and now I can officially say Boskovic is my favorite female player.


    But beating China will be so hard, Lang Ping is a genius, I hope Serbia find a way to stop the unstoppable Zhu.

    it wont be that easy for Zhu to have another 33-point match....the others should help her much!

    I agree with some of your points, but with some I strongly disagree. First of all, Robinson is a really good all round OH, maybe not the best of hitters but she passed really well, served and did her best to fire up her team. It was Larson who did really bad in the semi final.. she as a veteran, hasn't been there to support her teammates, wasn't there to score, there were a lot of shank passes from her, and she also missed many serves, which is not usual for her.. I am not saying she didn't try her best, but we always praise her (and she deserves it) but now she really didn't do her job. Also I don't agree about the run around of the OPPs.. That rotation (no.1) has been their weakest for many years.. Kelly and Lowe can hit from 4, but it's not their strong side.. Look at Boskovic, she scores from there as good as from 2, but it's not the case with USA.. I remember during WGP 2013, in some sets, Faucette was even coming for one rotation, to spike at 4, and when they score, she was going back out, and Murphy in, just so they pass that rotation as soon as possible..

    i think it'll be a crazy good final. as much as i like both teams, i think SRB will get its first gold.


    i recently watched the GP match in which SRB beat BRA 3-2. at moments, SRB was just dominant. it only became tight when SRB got flustered and made stupid mistakes, like in 5th set. they were up maybe 12-7, and let BRA back in the game. only won by 2, i think. key will be controlling reception and not make stupid mistakes. then they can attack from middle, which all three MBs did well.

    I expect Maja to play like she always does, and not like she did in the semis. Plus use Malesevic more in attack at the beginning of the game at least, because Chinese blockmwoill be ready for Boskovic and Mijaklovic
