Yes, Italy doesn't have the issue of most European teams, that they can't manage to exert the exactly right pressure and lose often because of making too many faults, so the better Asian teams are comfortably counting their errors.

I jumped back and forth between matches, so here some random impressions...
Bongaerts did really well for NED, I think finally the time has come that she takes Stoltenborg's spot in the roster.
Italy played really well, but I think they're on thin ice with all their "special effects" (e.g. libero directly passing free balls to the OH instead of to the setter). When it works it's nice, when it doesn't the opponent gets some easy points.
Nice battle between Poland and Thailand. Smarzek has definitely outgrown the "talent-status" and simply is a great player. She's showing this day after day in this tournament.
Two weeks into the tournament it looks like Germany has arrived at being the worst European team though I guess we'll battle it out with Belgium eventually. Our MB position is simply shameful. Schölzel is at least young and somewhat talented, but everyone else is 
I wish Koslowski would experiment a bit more at OH position. Starting Stigrot instead of Geerties today is already a first step, and finally also Vanjak got some time on court. I want to see Orthmann back in the team next week, there is simply no point keeping Poll in there.
