USA NT 2019

  • Fenerbahce is definitely adding their fore power with Drew. It is gonna be excited to see what they can bring to the league when she arrives.

    Vargas >>>>> Drew

    They will go downhill.

  • It isnt even confirmed yet and why judge when she hasnt even started playing with the team? People judged Haak going to Vakifbank and now she is doing fine

Haak is great OPP who proved herself in Seria A two season already playing in Scandicci.

No offense but Serie A is not the only basis whether a player deserves to play in a top team or not. Drews played in Turkey the previous season and she did just fine, helping Beylikduzu reach play offs. Iirc, the team even ranked 4th post season. She also played really well during VNL and World Cup winning MVP and Best Opp accordingly.

And now playing in Japan, smart move. :gone:

Honestly just don't reply to his/her/its messages anymore. Not even a USA fan, moreso a classless troll. Drews has proven herself as one of the top Opposites in the world who will and can contribute to any team she is on. If and when Drews joins Fener, she will be a great addition to the team who needs some maturity, a great attitude and added energy to that right side.

I dont normally write argumentative posts but some users are just exasperating sometimes

  • Same as Larson and Bartsch Hackley who play in China. They chose to play in shorter leagues. And now top teams want them on their teams, so they can earn more. Now tell me if that isnt a smart move.

Yes because they are playing in China not in Japan.

  • crovolley Clearly u dont follow much Asian Volleyball Leagues. The level of Chinese and Japanese volleyball leagues are almost the same.

    Sure Joanne.

  • Drews is a really good player and her super quick approach is very unique and powerful. She helped Beylikdüzü play really well and now her team JT in Japan is 1st placed, she was also great with the NT season, outplaying other US opps like Lowe (his serie A sweetheart lol) by miles. Drews is also less error-prone which is good when you already have a player like Mihajlovic.

She doesn't need to prove herself to certain ppl anymore :wavy: I'm really sad Vargas is injured, but Annie would surely be a great addition.

It is not like they have so much options at this point, they have to find an OPP who would be eligible for CL, sorry for Vargas but when we expected her to better this season, she was really bad. Someone less error prone would be great for Fenerbahce, I am not sure her defense skills but it might help a little as well since Vargas’ defense skills were pretty bad. They have so much attack options with Branicka, Kelsey, Eda.

  • Why is Lowe getting dunked on so much since her return? Looking at her stats with the national team this summer it doesn't looked like she was heavily outplayed by the other OPPs and that's after coming back after a long hiatus with no volleyball whatsoever. She was basically a rookie again.

Are people forgetting that last year was her first year back fulltime? . She wasnt even in Conegliano at the start of last season and when she arrived she was mostly playing back up. Im happy that Drews finally got out of Murphy's shadow because it was overdue and she really earned it. I just dont think Karsta deserves any of the snide remarks she gets.

  • Karsta is not playing in middle level league, She is playing in the strongest one.

Her team is second placed and She is the main weapon in her team.

So She is for sure candidat for USA NT spot.

Only If Karch is going to be idiot like all the time. This year they will not be even at Podium.

Not to take away anything from Karsta but didn't she play at the World Championships too? She was given ample time and opportunity by Santarelli to dislodge Fabris in that OPP slot but she just can't seem to get it. A lot of factors could have played into this but she isn't really "new" or a "rookie." Especially when we're talking about an Olympian. These types of athletes should get back into the game in a snap.

Karsta's an amazing athlete. Obviously better than free-ball Kelly but she doesn't have that great attitude about the sport if you compare her to someone like Annie. You know Annie wants this. She came into the last year's club season bringing her low-tier club team to the final 4 for the first time. She said in interviews that her mindset in the USA gym had to change. She strived to make the roster and starting positions and to not coast along just like her 2 previous years with NT. This year we saw a different Drews and by the looks of it she's not stopping with the learning curve anytime soon.

Add Thompson to the mix and it's a rumble.

I don't have an idea about Vargas' stats now but based on her games with Fenerbahce, she struggles a lot with finding ways to get her spikes across the net. In some instances, she will even get blocked even with just one blocker. She's a cannon, no doubt, but her maturity is lacking, still. Capped by her injury, Fener would really need someone to increase its chances in the CL and Turkish League. Their backup OPP just isn't doing it now.
