Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2021/22

In the end of that video it looks like they'll have 3 setters...
That was the Plan from Stuttgart. Two "older" + 1 young Setter
-
Ana Escamilla is back to Germany next season (Potsdam?)
-
Fleur Savelkoel leaves Sliedrecht. Could be a nice Transfer to our League. 😇
-
-
Linda Bock leaving Münster is official now.
According to this article, it's sure she'll come to Dresden.

So a Dreblow/Bock libero duo seems to come more and more realistic.

Big possibility she will join project 2022... Than she will train on Papendal to have a shot to be part of the squad during WCH 2022 in home country.
She always has been talented, but always choose her study above her volleyball career, so good she thing she is focusing more on volleyball now! Although I think she could develop more playing in German league than being part of Project 2022.

An Team like Suhl was a good Idea.

That graphic shows only 4 spots for OHs, so I wonder if Lara Berger will stay or if they'll loan her to a team where she can get some playing time...
-
The article about Hölzig's transfer also mentions that Lina Alsmeier is under contract for next season, so Schwerin already has three young but very good OHs for the new season.

And in the video Hannah Kohn was wearing a jersey with the number 15, which was Lara Bergers number so far...

I cant imagine her going back to Guillermo Hernandez.

I cant imagine her going back to Guillermo Hernandez.
Me neither. I think if she comes back to the Bundesliga, she'll probably end up in of of the top 3 Clubs...my first guess would be Stuttgart..?
-
Yes, most likely she will not see much court time (if any) so I don't really get why they offered her an actual contract. Three setters make no sense in my opinion. She could have just trained with them and went to a few games like they have done it with young players before (i.e. an OH and L last season) without signing a contract and still play in 2nd league
Certainly she won't get a lot of playing time in the first team and will be used more in the second team. But the contract was still inevitable. Allianz MTV Stuttgart regards her as a great talent. That's why the club would certainly like to train her further so that at some point she really plays in the first team as a setter. But in order to be able to train her further, they had to be committed to the new season. She says the reason for this in the video herself.
„Weil ich jetzt fertig mit meinen Abi bin, …“ (english: "Because I've finished my Abitur now ...") – Those are the important words. As far as I am informed, her time at the Bundesstützpunkt (english: federal base) in Stuttgart should end with the end of the school education. That's why she needed a contract for the new season.Otherwise it might have been similar to Paula Morgenroth for her. After her time at VCO Berlin, Paula Morgenroth did not get a follow-up contract in the Bundesliga and therefore had to come up with a plan B, ended her career in the meantime and began an apprenticeship. This season, however, she returned to volleyball and was part of the BBSC Berlin squad.

Naya Crittenden, Morgan Hentz, Lenka Dürr and Lina-Marie Lieb are leaving Dresden.
Also both assistant coaches are leaving. Konstantin Bitter has the opportunity to be a headcoach in another team.
-
Konstantin Bitter takes over the coaching position at Schwarz-Weiß Erfurt. Now it will be interesting to see if Lenka Dürr goes there with him.

There is some trouble in German volleyball about the new TV contracts Women's league signed a new contract with Sport1 until 2026 which includes up to 40 matches in free TV, but the rest of the matches will no longer be streamed for free by another site but in a paid service also by Sport1
Men's league refused to join this system because it's especially problematic for the smaller clubs, many fans aren't willing to pay for watching streams so the viewer rates online will decrease hugely. So there won't be any men matches on Sport1 free TV either and they're currently looking for a new host.
I'm really fed up with this decision about paid streams Often I don't have time to watch full matches or watch bits and pieces of different matches and I'm not willing to pay for that
-
SportTotal was the most accessible internationally, other than Turkey (but they used Youtube)
brb off to wish all of my Americans to go to Turkey
I honestly wouldn't mind paying for Sport1 service... as long as I wouldnt have to use a VPN to access it (which I doubt will happen)
