It was reported in the Philippines that China will be sending their U20 squad (and will have friendly matches with Philippine NT). Even in the past AVC Cup, only Thailand among the top teams sent their team A. China, Japan and Korea sent different team before. I remember Osanai performing well in the last Cup, and Liu Yanhan for China.

I think Japan really needs to increase their time at the gym. Koga, Inoue, Ishii, and Kurogo are nowhere near Gabi's explosiveness, considering that these girls are of the same height (180 cm). Even Fe Garay, who stands 179 cm, is more explosive than any >=180 cm Japanese OHs. I've never seen Koga spike at over 87 km/hr. It's usually around 75-83 km/hr. Well, I think it has to do with her preference for precision over power.
Please use the word weight room. Many teams play in a gymnasium (taiikukan). Japan put tons of time in the gym, practicing, just not lifting....

I don't see Hinotori benefitting from this at all. During the last remote intrasquad match they had during the pandemic Kurogo was so cocky even though their team lost with Ishii in it. She pratically went 100 to 0 by the time they had that China friendly match.

Also I saw it trended on twitter that figureskater Yuzuru Hanyu announced his retirement. Good thing JVA called dibs on his coaches right away. It's a battle for his staff in Japan even down to his managers.

Out of the question I don't see any federation wanting anything to do with Russia atm.
We might see Fukudome pull a Kobata on Grandmagishi. Although she's probably the last libero I thought would make the NT shortlist. The only thing I remember about her is Nakata from Toray boinking her with a headshot but she remained unfazed.
