Brazil NT 2022

  • what happened? Sorry it has been a while since I follow Brazil MNT

It isn't clear, because anyone hasn't spoke about this openly, but there's rumours about the enviroment not being that sheltering, especially for him, who is completely open about his sexuality, plus the influence of the senate in decisions like who play, but that's aware for everybody in ages.

That's too bad. With Leal out of the picture, they really need someone reliable to play next to Lucarelly.

  • Roster for Olympic Qualifiers

    S: Bruno, Cachopa

    L: Thales, Maique

OH: Adriano, Lukas Bergmann, Lucarelli, Honorato

    OP: Alan, Darlan

    MB: Otavio, Lucas, Flavio, Judson

  • Roster for 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago Chile - Oct 20-Nov 5

    S: Matheus Goncalves, Thiaguinho

    L: Maique

OH: Adriano, Lukas Bergmann, Honorato, Maicon

    OP: Darlan, Felipe Roque

    MB: Judson, Otavio, Thiery

  • Arthur will be out for 4 months due to injury on the left foot

  • JFC, Renan doesn't even let his bench players play on games with weaker teams

  • Excited for this new era, I hope Rezende tries a lot of new players next year.

Y'all need to open a new thread for the men's team. New era post-Renan deserve a fresh start. 😂😂😂

  • :wall: even for the OH2 spot??

This will be an Olympic year and if he returns, that's just for one tournament - maybe Douglas will return and that would be it. OH3/OH4 spot is an open race because both Adriano and Honorato are horrible, but I doubt that there's anyone new besides Arthur that can actually make the team level-wise. New coach can give more playing time to Maique (Thales was better this year, but I can see that), give some chances to different MBs for MB3 spot - there won't be any revolution unless injuries.

Renan wasn't as bad as people were saying and he's not as good as he should be as a coach of Brazil NT, so this is a good info for Brazilians.

His biggest problem is that Brazil stopped producing world class players since the 1986 generation (Lucas and Bruninho).

They have some strong players, but far from the all-star team that dominated the world. Remember there was a moment Murilo - who was just a bench player for years - was the best player of the world (in 2010). It gives you a perfect picture of the greatness of the starting players.

    Douglas is overrated IMHO.

I'd like to see some new blood:

S: Matheus Brasilia, Mateus Bender, Gustavo Cardoso

OH: Arthur, Lukas B, Marcus Vinicius, Victor Birigui, Bryan Silva, Carlos Castro, João Franck, Leonardo Leodolter, Daniel Muniz

    OP: Oppenkoski, Sameul Neufeld, Chizoba

MB: Leo, Thiery, Geovane Kuhnen, Witallo, Pietro Santos

    L: Alexander Elias, Bryan Boll

You have Lucarelli, Alan, Thales, Cachopa. And now they have Darlan

  • For sure Brazil has a huge problem in youth program but taking just Honorato and Adriano plus Lukas Bermamm just for experience (without court time) it’s Renam’s fault.

Bruninho has a great energy but his sets to pins are awful. If he continue playing like this Brazilian NT coach must to keep him on the bench.

Líbero position. Thales it’s good on reception but far from being decent on defense.

  • Douglas in an really young age was the best OH in WC 2018. He is at least a decent OH for international level.

  • None of them is a world class player like Gustavo, Giba, Dante, Murilo, André Heller, Ricardinho and Escadinha. They are good or very good (strong) players, but Brazil had a whole starting 6 + 1 made of world class players 2 dacades ago.

you could say that about every other team out there.

why are you comparing players of yesteryears with the current crop? If that's so, the earlier players of other countries are better than the current one.
