CEV Champions League 2023

  • wait really ?

Yes and no. They alternated each other in a few matches as Gabi was younger, had firepower and didn't particularly mess the reception line (but has way less experience). Then Logan got injured (she was underperforming a bit imo) and Gabi finished the season as great protagonist. We all know the after story:drink:

  • Maybe struggled wasn't the right word. She was better than Arina for sure, but she was definitely the service target during the 2012/2013 season.

If you speak Portuguese, here's Bernardinho saying that Gabi has great potential in attack but needs to work on her pass (it's right at the end of the video):

Yep. Logan hád some problems If i am not mistaken and Gabi fill this empty spot and with her good reception and defense she stayed as starter.

Actually Bernardinho talk about the difference between Gabi ( Rio) and Gabi "Gabiru" ( Osasco). Gabiru is really short and played as Libero in World Gran Prix for Brazil.

  • Its was a time when Serie A1 was weaker than now. And Superliga was way stronger. Osasco was the World Champion back than with Fabíola/Sheila Jaque / Garay Thaysa/Adhe and Brait.

Gabi never hád shaky reception but for internacional standards IMO Just in Second Season for VB she became great on attack.

  • Fedorovsteva's serving game might just be the greatest in the women's game ever. To think she's just 18! :obey:

  • Rivers must be the clumsiest defender in the world but her fighting spirit still makes her save many balls :super:

Remember that she is all but a usual fully healthy sportswoman, that makes her often move in weird ways especially in defense.

Yeah, and he says that Gabizinha (Rio) jumps higher than Gabiru, but Gabiru is the better passer and that they need to work on Gabizinha's pass.

Anyway, my point was that, though Arina is way ahead of her same-age peers on attack, her reception is still more or less what you would expect from a teenager. As she matures, her pass will probably get better.

Lol Gabizinha (little Gabi) is the Gabi that we all know, Gabiru is Gabriella (with two Ls) Guimarães who currently plays for Sesc.

  • If Arina improve reception she Will bê the best OH in the world but i think that reception isnt something easy tô improve. Natália was a beast on attack in a Young early age but was never good on reception.

  • Fenerbahçe have 15 aces in 4 sets.
