  • Wow! I really didnt expect Italy will play with bench players. I thought Berruto wanted to keep Italy´s winning streak (Italy is the only team with 18 pts). Do you know if Poland will play with their best team this weekend? Will we see Kurek, Wlazly, Zagumny and so on?

The biggest gap between Italy´s back up and A squad is the OH position. Randazzo and Lanza are many steps behind Kovar and Parodi.

  • dunno, for who can one watch the match ? maybe Vettori, who else is worth watching amongst the backup players?

Baranowicz is an OK player.vettori has nothing less than zaytsev for me plus he is young, lanza was doing good things in the league simone buti and matteo piano are good middle players so i think italy is still worth to watch even without main players 8)

  • Poland in this weekend without Ignaczak, Ferens and Ruciak, but with Wlazły, Winiarski, Kurek and Możdżonek, so 15 players will be available.

    S: Drzyzga, Żygadło
    OP: Wlazły, Bociek, Konarski
    OH: Kurek, Winiarski, Buszek, Mika
MB: Nowakowski, Możdżonek, Kłos, Wrona, Wiśniewski
    L: Zatorski

I think Italy is safe with this move now that they remain unbeaten. You do not want to tire and overused the players with the remaining 3 matches before the final 6. Noe they have the luxury to experiment and these B players are not bad at all to begin with

  • And Russia is bringing the big guns this weekend to recover from 0-4 loss.

    Setters: Makarov, Grankin
Middle Blockers: Muserskiy, Apalikov, Volvich, Smolyar
    Liberos: Ermakov, Verbov
    Opposites: Pavlov, Zemchenok
Receivers: Ilinykh, Spiridonov, Biryukov, Khtey, Savin

Bulgaria badly needs to regroup since they are underperforming with their Team A. Unlike Russia, they do not have secret weapons at all but to keep playing with the current roster and adjust accordingly

Fearless forecast: Pool A: Poland; Pool B: Bulgaria -> to be eliminated in Final 6 :)

  • German roster for the matches in France:

Zuspieler: Lukas Kampa (Radom/POL), Jan Zimmermann (VfB Friedrichshafen)
    Diagonalspieler: Simon Hirsch (Generali Haching)
Außenangreifer: Christian Fromm (Perugia/ITA), Björn Höhne (TV Ingersoll Bühl), Denis Kaliberda (Wegiel/POL), Tom Strohbach (Generali Haching)
Mittelblocker: Philipp Collin (Tours/FRA), Michael Andrei (St-Nazaire/FRA), Marcus Böhme (Generali Haching)
Libero: Markus Steuerwald (Paris/FRA), Ferdinand Tille (Generali Haching)

Simon Hirsch will get another chance due to the absence of Schöps. But like in Argentina we might see Fromm as opposite as well.

If France doesn't start to play the rest of their matches with subs, their flight to Australia is nearly booked. So far, they looked like the most motivated and best team in the group. I think both, Argentina and Germany are not really keen on playing a "final4" in Australia.

    Where is Mikhaylov? Injured?

  • Grzegorz Bociek got a small ankle injury, we don't know if it's serious. Probably he'll get a rest so OPs against Italy should be Wlazły with Konarski

    yes

  • Are there any news about Mauricio's ankle?? It looked pretty bad :(

BTW Sivozhelez out for WL and WCH...can wait to see Spiridonov's crazy look in eyes this weekend

  • Stephane Antiga said in an interview that Paweł Zagumny didn't want to play in World League so we probably won't see him in any match there. Antiga is still thinking if it's a good decision to bring him on WCH. Possible pair may be Drzyzga - Żygadło.

  • I will keep Buszek in the first 6. His efficiency and overall stats are impressive vs BRA & ITA. Winiarski as his diagonal and move Kurek as OP. Just my 2 cents :)

Why trying Kurek as OPP if we have Wlazły? :white: And donnu, Buszek still doesn't convince me at all...

Why it doesn't surprise me? :aww: He's more and more annoying. His Majesty just flies so high above such an unimportant tournament as WL...

  • Having a big, strong guy for an outside hitter is huge advantage, as the last 12 years showed.

He's #1 Polish spiker after 3 weekends at #11. I kinda fancy his style which is quite quick and unpredictable. He reads blockers well. And....easy on the eyes. Just imagine these 3 hotties sweating all out their hearts on one court? Ahhhh...that's my vball porn hehe :)

  • I'm convinced this is the best Brazil has played so far this year and it hasn't even been a full set yet. It's like a completely different team.
Wallace is showing once again that he deserves to be the starter OPP.
