Montreux Volley Masters 2017 - 6-11.06.2017

  • Germany looks really competetive. I like that. As I said before I can see Geerties and Lippmann playing in Turkey soon. Lippmann could be the next OPP Vakif will be looking for after Sloetjes. Guidetti saw the potencial of her as well and I think she can shine under Guidetti. And Geerties I mean she is a good passer, needs to improve her attack but all in all a good OH.

Btw, the time schedule for these matches are totally crap, not only they are playing really late, the break between the matches when the next one will start is too short. Having 3 matches and starting with the first one around 5 pm is really late.

  • me either...btw.. what is the real answer of my question ?

Lol Rains of Castamere was joking. Last time Germany beat Brazil before today in Volleyball is something no one knows lol He was joking and said World Cup 2014 when Germany beat Brazil in Footbal

Though you should have gotten it by now actually xD

  • Although this was no ranking counting match, it is always like a miracle to win at indoor volleyball against Brazil (similar only with China and Russia). So the hope, the German NT may play even better without pressure like qualifying for something worked out too...

  • If the ARG team wins against the SUI team in its last pool match 3-0 or 3-1 it will advance into SF regardless the outcomes of all other matches within the Pool A.

The NED need to hope that the SUI team can steal at least two sets from ARG. But I guess it's ARG that will play in the next round.

The Pool B is still quite fluid, each team still has chance depends on the outcomes of today's and tomorrow's matches.

thx beri but you were late to help. very tactful of you :) the other users already helped me get it..anyway , i didnt guess germany hadnt beat brazil before

  • WOW! SURPRISE!!! SURPRISE!!! SUI is able to take the 1st set from NED 25-23.

WHO will think of this earlier??? ?(?(

P.S. Even the match commentator is surprised with this outcome :P

  • Great fight by the host team, SUI, in consideration to the resources that it has.. though still not enough to earn any point.

    NED 3 - 1 SUI (23-25, 25-14, 25-18, 25-20)

Laura Künzler (shirt 14), the wing spiker, was the SUI star in this match; while Plak remained dominant in NED team.

  • A very energetic match between GER vs THA, so dynamic, high tempo, quite fascinating... GER won 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 25-19, 25-20). Lippmann is the MVP of that match (with 29 points iirc).

THA team, the 4th strongest squad in Asia, with the players fielded here represents at least 80% of its full strength, were beaten 1-3 by both POL and GER, showing the strength of the European teams, in particular the GER team has been showing much improvement compared to last year.

By this defeat, the THA team is out, leaving the competition for advancing to next round to GER, BRA and POL, decided by the outcomes of the last match by each team tomorrow: GER - POL and BRA - THA.

    31 points, and 59% attack :super::super::super:

Also our MBs with a good performance today. The only thing I don't like: before the tournament Koslowski said he'll use it to see the new players on court. Pogany, Wezorke, Langgemach and Grozer haven't played a single rally so far  At least Kemmsies is on court and Großer got some playing time today, but I'd prefer some alternations at MB as well. It won't happen tomorrow because we need to beat Poland to be sure in semifinals, otherwise we depend on the result of BRA-THA. But then, who would have dreamed of Germany in semifinal before the tournament?? :white:

  • i'd say THA is at below 80%. they are missing nootsara (and her great connection with pleumjit), onuma and malikka. so many of these players are so young.

both POL MB are 197 cm, and THA MB are 180 cm!!!!!!

Not really. Pornpun had overtaken Nootsara since WOQT.

Doesn't matter if she's there tbh. The slides of Pleumjit will not work against very good outside blocking like Poland and Germany.
