Turkey - Vestel Venüs Sultanlar Ligi - 2018/2019

  • Melissa Vargas single handedly took that first set. FB wins 27-25. What a start to the season from the young cuban star. It's definitely a season opening match with some errors, yet still very competitive so far.

  • Beliën with a few good blocks on Vargas!:box:

  • Vargas shows flashes of brilliance, still her athleticism isnt as impressive now as it was before her injury, its not "Egonu-like". In the second set she has been blocked down three times, at least, already while we count it at 15-14 to Besiktas. Her serving has been fantastic in the second set though. Bricio continues to impress with her back pipe attacks down the line as well as her serves obviously, so far shes been the most solid player in Fener for me. Vargas will, especially now coming off an injury, as well as being a player with a risky, wild playing style overall on top of that, be very on and off from set to set and match to match.

  • Kamil Söz .... When big servers like Vargas and Bricio are serving its not rocket science to sub one of the 2 opps with a receiving specialist...

  • As far as I know Cuban federation has no intention to get Vargas back to NT. It would be such a wise move by Fenerbahce to offer a Turkish citizenship for Vargas. Of course this cant be a single handed taken desicion by Fenerbahce, it is all up to Vargas (Hi Matthias, yeah I know clubs dont go to a market and get the players by paying off their prize, players choose the club they want to play:lol:) This way they can have a world class OPP and 3 more foreigners. Taking into account our OPP problem in NT, I would like to see a strong girl like Vargas playing in NT. She can be our 'Taismary Agüero' ( Oh God how i missed watching her:heart:)

  • terrible coaching from Kamil Söz, all I have to say. BJK lead all sets 2 of them with 6 pts and yet lost all of them

    FB 3-0 BJK (27-25, 25-20, 27-25)

  • Beşiktaş lost 3-0 but it was close..Whats wrong with Olesia, the opp of Beşiktaş ? she is very experienced still the impression i get from her is timidity..why is that ? she is a good opp indeed but she cant show her best for some reason otherwise we remember her great matches. what does Kamil Söz have in mind as using Mia and Ceren as OH duo ? probably having a strong attack line but volleyball starts with passing! other than Yvon and Janset, team's offense was pretty bad! they were good at blocking which kept them in the game.. i like setter Arelya..she is not bad!

Fener's foreigners and MB duo Eda-Bahar were good..Vargas could be a monster by earning experience. Vargas and Brico's serves rock !

Ana will be better..Fatma was the weakest point today..she needs to get better

  • But she is in Galatasaray this year.

A good local OH who can receive is always welcome. Hande needs to improve her reception. Once she gains more experiences, she may become another Gozde.

  • How did Bricio play in this match? I am curious to see if she could fit in Turkish league. Always love her serve.

  • Canter today I thought Rykhliuk's problem was Arelya (I liked her other then that also) but it really bothered me when she tried setting quick sets to Olesia even when reception was decent and we simply know Olesia is not a quick attacking Opp, she needs high balls. They should work on that together.

kyle7in1 Bricio was good I think, her reception interesting enough was esp. good today, sometimes she became invincible in the match but thats probably bcs its so early in the season, She and Vargas had a couple of aces already today.

For BJK basically their middles kept them in the game, it shouldnt have taken so long for Kamil Söz to replace Ceren/Mia. Btw I think I prefer Ceren as OH1 over Mia and then a receiving OH for BJK. Mia Jerkov I just dont think she makes the difference anymore...

  • on tomorrow's matches :

Galatasaray - Çanakkale B : Gala is the fav..Çanakkale has only one foreign player..Gala has good locals :Meryem,Hande,Aslı,libero Gizem etc...i think Gala will have some problems at blocking in the future..i dont remember MB Jackson as good blocker..Çanakkale is one of the weakest teams of the league (if not the weakest team).

Vakıfbank - Karayolları : Vakıf is the fav. id like to watch this match to see Ebrar,Tuğba,Derya,Saliha etc..also,i wonder about setter Elif Şahin's perf.

Aydın BB - THY : id like to watch this match. two good mid-level teams in the league are going to face each other..i think THY will win.also i wonder the Dominican players of Aydın..THY is a good passing team, this can help.

Halkbank - Beylikdüzü : Halkbank is amongs the weakest teams of the league..Beylikdüzü is close to winning .i wonder Tutku,Funda and setter Aslıhan of Halkbank and the American players of Beylikdüzü of course!

Nilüfer B - Eczacıbaşı : i wonder about Nilüfer's lineup tomorrow.if they will field their foreigners or not?

  • For me Bricio and Vargas had nice performance, nothing special. What I like about them is their amazing serve, I said it before Bricio is for me one the of best servers in the world, but her reception is still not stabile, Fatma covered her a lot. Vargas had some very good moves but with many mistakes, but she is very young and She just come from injury. Waiting to see what they can offers against way more stronger teams Eczacibasi and Vakif.

Rykhliuk is still playing on high level to bad that She is not playing in better club. Jerkov it is time to say goodbye and retire, She didn't played that bad but still...

  • I think we should slow down with assumptions about BJK yes they lost 3-0 but two sets were 27-25 which is already a much closer match then some other matches we saw this week in early start of season. They just need to fix reception problem, maybe Hümay + Ceren/Jerkov as starters instead of Ceren+Jerkov. Their middles looked good, block defense will always help a team, I think BJK can improve throughout the season.
