Congrats to Scandicci! After investing so much money in the last few years, they finally manage to win a trophy
However to be honest the level of this competition was extremely low this year, and not only this year... Probably it's time for CEV to understand that having 3 European cups for female clubs is too much. Two (Champions League and Cev Cup) are more than enough.

I agree! I think CEV needs to fuse these two cups and use a different format. Some qualification rounds and then group matches and then quarter finals and final 4. The way it is now is not appealing to many top teams. And there should definitely be a CL wild card for the club who won the competition.

I agree that CEV needs to increase the level of these other cups. I don't remember the specific details but some years ago, after CL groups were completed, some of the eliminated teams were able to play in CEV Cup. That could help. Securing a place in CL for the following year could also help, regardless of the achievement in the local league. But, of course, CEV doesn't even secure a place for the defending champion in the following edition.

CEV Cup should have a formula similar to UEFA Cup/Europa League in football, with group stages, qualies and serious potential prize for a winner (such as CL spot), with Challenge Cup being abolished. With teams from spots 4-5 from Russia, Poland and Italy, serious formula and a prize, this tournament would be at least moderately interesting. In male competition in Challenge Cup we had a situation that Russia, Italy and Poland didn't even play, so what's the point?
But it has been like that for 40 years now, I guess it was inspired by football at that time with European Cup/UEFA Cup/Cup Winners' Cup, CEV Cup was even called like that in the past, so it's hard to expect any changes other than renaming when even UEFA decided to recreate 3rd division of European competition (because it means more money).
