  • I just can't with this mousey Mr Rogers guy calling the JT Toyota match

  • Minami Nishimura takes the all time serve receive award honors from Risa Shinabe

At the V.League site where you can see these things they have it cut between 2016/17 and 2017/18.They must have changed the way they calculate or judge it?

The Pre-2017 list has zeros under the "Good" column, so they didn't count/judge those. But the players had much higher % so they must have counted every positive as "Excellent" with no penalty for the Fails (before or after 2017)

Other awards such as MVP, fighting spirit , best rookie, and best Coach will be decided after the Final Stage

  • Nakada is coaching at a V3 hopeful men's team called Fragolad. It's not shown on their IG but one of Nakada's assistants is Rika Nomoto. It's quite possible that after this she will return to coaching a V1 women's team. I tried to find out how long her contract is with the team but I couldn't find anything.

she’s the Executive Director as it says on the banner as that is the position she’ll take

  • quick question about nishimura. if she was this good all along how come she never had any records at okayama? that serve receive award hasn't been given away since 2019 according to saga. i don't know who the last recipient was.

Kobata won it in 21/22, before that it was just the "receive Award" Hayashi 2020, and Kotoe Inoue 2019

Re: Nishimura. It's a good question. I guess she was more valuable to Okayama as a Defensive Specialist since they had 19 liberos. She a stability player, don't do anything stupid. Worked that way in all her U-Squads too

Annoying Okayama fan that I am :) I've enjoyed her work for years and know she was this good all along :drink:

[edit] 75% reception? No, I didn't know that :rolll: It's crazy

  • 19 liberos! why are they keeping so many!? I didn't know she was in the U Squad but then again the only libero I remember is Mizusugi. Ironically she never grew any further despite multiple? awards of best libero If I remember correctly.

  • Himeji's training team MaxValu Victorina is going independent and changing their name to Viale Hyogo. They are also going to open their roster to "V-League retired players, [who] can play an active role, and make a fresh start"

That's not interesting but this is ... kinda:

    Quote

Kaori Inoue (born in Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture) and Yukiko Ebata, former Japan national team and bronze medalist at the 2012 London Olympics, have been appointed as team directors responsible for player guidance and PR

And they are "aiming for V.League"

Well, not 19, but 7 including her. Still a lot. In U-Squad she was always in Mizusugi's shadow

I'm gonna take Saori Sakoda's name drops less seriously now. She's picked Mizusugi, Shima, and Himeji in general. Not a good batting average

    But players can grow

Saori Kimura as well lol she has no eye on these things she just doesn't get it lol I can see why she's never invited to do training camps except during Manabe's entourage appearance at Satsumasendai where she had to be photographed next to Koga.

Btw, what happened to that Seitoku middle that her and Araki were promoting before their ancient coach retired? where is she now?

  • Btw, what happened to that Seitoku middle that her and Araki were promoting before their ancient coach retired? where is she now?

I think you mean Airi Furukawa? She signed with Toray like most good Seitoku players do

She may be experiencing a bit of a fizzle for a couple reasons: Seitoku didn't make the last Haruko so she didn't get promoted/honored in any way, and throughout her stay at Seitoku she played all three front row positions, ending on OH -- so it's unclear what her position is

She is at this year's U21 training camps, and she dressed for last year's U18 Champions. I don't remember how much she played. She's somewhere in between promising and forgotten

But what about Otomo's daughter what makes her promising? have you seen her play? In the articles I've read it says she's participating in the upcoming Asian games
