2022 AVC Cup for Men

  • I don't see any update in live rankings and normally there were made soon after the game, so you may be right after all.

They don't do it immediatly for minor competitions. If I remember correcetly, this year they updated the ranking 10 or 12 days after the start of CEV Golden League.

Yup, but there's still no update for AVC Cup - and I don't think this event will count when e.g. Iran plays with U-20 team, they would have lost a lot of points due to losses to China and Bahrain, and that would be very unfair.

We need to wait few more days to see whether it will be updated or not.

If I remember correctly, there was some kind of rule announced that international torunaments having at least 4 participating teams will be included to the ranking.

  • wow Korea losing 3-0 to Bahrain, I never thought I would see that

this is probably the lowest point of Korean male NT :aww:

Congrats to Bahrain btw, this bronze is their biggest achievement. they were quite good actually

and also Iran U20 team did great by finishing 5th. much better than my expectations, they took a set from China (and Bahrain)

  • What an exciting week of men’s volleyball ! Congratulations China on becoming champions for the second time.

Japan and Iran, the top ranked Asian nations in men’s vb didn’t send their top teams, and as a result the whole tournament was opened up, with opportunities for several other teams. In fact, the top 8 teams (plus Chinese Taipei, imo) were quite evenly matched with several matches going to 5 sets, and even the 3, 4 set matches were close.

Bahrain, Hong Kong and Pakistan were making their debut, and Bahrain turned out to be the real surprise ! It was heart warming to see how happy they were and how they celebrated after winning bronze :)

....and Mohamed Abdullah is a tall man at 187cm ! I noticed that in this tournament there are a few “shorter” players like him and 183cm Yu Yuantai (China no 6) who have amazing vertical
