Italian Women's NT 2023

  • Yes that is true. Italy needs a refreshing in this position. All the OH who played in world championship except Bosetti needs to leave. Degradi ,Villani and Omoruy would be work.

I mean the best OH rn in the league is Villani. Loveth was playing great during the second part of the season but now she's back to how she started.

Tosini and Esposito seem promising. Just hate that Pietrini is gonna stay at Scandicci where she barely gets any playing time. She's the Italian OH with most potential. Even Terzic said it.

Antropova is a decent passer, but she has to play alongside a position specialist (for example a player like Busa) and, currently there are no Italian players with these characteristics...

Pietrini is a dilemma: she certainly has the potential to be one of the best OH in the world, but it seems she is completely lost... Many rumors circulate here about her state and, unfortunately, many of these paint a bad picture of the girl's psychophysical condition...

It's a potentially very bad situation and we just have to hope for her best, as an athlete and, above all, as a person...

Pietrini is the italian version of Hande.

  • Pietrini, has 29% passing and 24% attack efficiency: she barely played a few decent games this year... If I were Hande, I wouldn't be flattered by the comparison...

yeah Hande is having better season but I mean both are the most promising Oh of their nations and have potential to help their NT's poor OH rotations but choose staying at their comfort zone and cant reach their ceiling.

  • Isn’t Cate exactly the defensive OH?

Yes... but she still has to be in a fairly balanced diagonal pair, she can't handle a two-player reception... You can see it well this year where, both with Carcaces and Adams, she struggles a lot when she has to take up a lot of the field...

  • Pietrini is the italian version of Hande.

Pietrini has way more potential tha Hande. She was the best player of the Euro 2021 and she had a great VNL. Hande on other hand has always been inconsistent.

The thing with Pietrini is that she always plays a mediocre to average club season but a good to great NT season

  • Esposito has the power and Tosini has the height. :super::super:

Tosini is the rare tall Italian OH that actually can kill and pass at the same time :heart: She is the go-to player in the team and passes decently. I hope she would turn into a tall all around OH for the NT and Club.

Erika is 185 cm tall. Thats totally fine for an OH. Besides Italy has never been caracterised for having tall OHs.

Frankly, when you say that Pietrini had "good to great NT season", I don't understand what you're talking about...

I'm a big fan of Elena, I think (I thought) that she was predestined for success, but the reality of the facts says something else...

Oh come on, Pietrini just had better teammates in NT, like especially Egonu :rolll: Hande was one of the key-factors for Turkey's silver medals in VNL and ECh and OG qualification. I would like to see Pietrini do as good when she is playing next to Meliha and Meryem Boz
