Japan Women's NT 2023

  • Fukudome highlight there. Take a bullet and then dive for a ball you didn't know was loose :rose:

  • Dead Eyes has got big feet. Check it out

  • I like it better when Japan is up by like 8 or 9 points rather than these close ones :|

  • OT: Nwakalor is just 179. So much power for her height.

And the thing is, did we see her ever have to TIP the ball over?

All Japanese hitters have to tip the ball about half their shots. Partly bad sets and partly they lack the Nwakalor athleticism to just take balls in the general vicinity, adjust and Smaçör :!:

  • Nagaoka is Nagaoka but I think she has outlived her form. she needs to go

You're a total doomsayer :rolll: Tell me something you love. Something that makes you giddy in ways you don't understand

  • Japan won that match 93–92 :super:

if Nagaoka suddenly becoming her usual self. then I'll eat my words :cheesy:

    Inoue's reception is 60%

Koga ordering people around loudly during time outs...

Ishikawa smiling (without the creepy vibe)..... lots of things

    And long hair :drink:

  • Now that Japan is confirmed for the Finals and will most probably be facing USA, which setters do yall think should be brought along this time?

Seki is not a bad setter, and I like her scrappy defense. But the last set against Italy kind of frustrated me when she set obviously to Wada. Nagaoka didn't have a strong sting either in those final crucial points.

Side note: Wada is going to be a strong player when she goes back to JT. They might not need a foreign opposite after all

Nishikawa didn't show much promise as Wada in the VNL. That's a little sad

    Shibata

  • This is the softest I've seen Nagaoka become she hasn't awakened yet. And you know it's bad when Yamada swings harder than she ever did. Someone needa make her mad that type of softness will not be tolerated.

Seki ain't got rizz even the cameraman could read her every move.

  • JPN DID fine with Set 4, less error with more spikes. Set 1 and Set 2 is JPN waiting for ITA errors which is mind numbing and getting roofed. Kudos to Omuruyi in the final set, who literally manned the backrow defense to ITA victory.

From this VNL Prelims, Manabe seems to prefer the likes of Shibata and Seki. Matsui is often replaced the minute she make mistakes lol. I think Nishimura, Ishikawa, Koga, Inoue, Hayashi , Irisawa and Wada(as OH/OPP option) I think earned their spots with the amount of matches they had played. I do not know if there are other options for OPP so by default, Nagaoka might make it OR Tanaka might get honorary defensive specialist role that she had the first two weeks. Wished Miyabe earned her spot with this performance against ITA though I would not be shocked if Shimamura took her spot over with Irisawa and .Yamada
