Haak with 30 points 64% and 5 errors was AMAZING today. Also Paola with 21 points was great but I do not understand why Santarelli and Gaspari burden so much their OPP before the semi of CL... Malual and Plummer ( or Piani of course) should play these matches. Bad desicions from the coaches.

Firenze with a nice sweep over Chieri yesterday, who were playing without Skinner and Grobelna ahead of the CEV cup final (I assume). Still nice teamwork by Firenze and breaking their 6-match losing streak!
Today two fun matches for me, the battle between Anne & Carol (this time neither is injured) and Lohuis vs Polder. Too bad they're at the same time but both matches should be fun to watch and could go either sweep or tiebreak

Smarzek is looking better and better again I must say!
-
It's a pity that once again injuries messed things up for Novara, I genuinely believe that second place would have been at reach with Markova.
-
Bonifacio really wants to go to Paris once she got the chance she has been amazing (almost) each game. Assuming everyone's available she would be my 2nd MB pick for Italian NT after Fahr, fingers crossed!

I never get why she decided to spend so much time in Novara behind Chirichella (family reasons from what I remember but I might be wrong). Unfortunately it's always in positions where we're covered that we get so much competition...

Injuries or not, going down 2:13 in 3rd set is unacceptable for Novara

I'm glad their current coach doesn't mind subbing out players like Danesi/Chirichella/Bosetti if necessary, and just letting the best team play. Hopefully she can keep this level and stay starter for a while and look at it this way: with such powerful MBs, the OHs could have a little less attacking power! Just need a reliable setter and you're done

It's like that after losing the second set they were gone and out of it. Just terrible display.

You make it seem so easy...
On a more serious note though...

Agree! She’s in much better shape than Danesi, and Lubian can’t block.

I wish Maja played more such combinations, not only when they're 10+ pts ahead

Scandicci’s passing seldom allows her to do so though

Who got injured?

Who got injured?
Markova is the last one, but throughout the season basically all Novara's starters suffered some injuries at some point.

I'm curious to see them next season with Castillo and probably Antiga, they might get more interesting than usual.

yeah bonifacio has been rocking lately

The Sara(h)s are both pos3 attackers though, so I'm afraid Lubian will still play as the slider with Chirichella/Danesi? Or am I forgetting another (good) slider? Unless they just forget about the slide attack and leave that whole air space open for Egonu/Antropova to dominate from backrow

Lubian’s slide isn’t really that good to compensate her inability to block imo. And with Orro as their setter, better make things simple, forget the slides lol

I think so, too. She’s definitely stepped her game up a notch. The team also looks engaged since the beginning of the season when they let balls go and lost points seemingly without a care. Love to see it! Smarzek was really good in the VNLs last summer, too.
