According to the SZ, Dresden currently has 7 infected players plus 2 injured players.

I think, the playoffs should be reorganized into two semi final starting groups, upper (Stuttgart, Dresden, Potsdam, Schwerin) and lower, to react on the too many postponements of league round matches. Anyway, due to points per match the table is now as follows:
1. Stuttgart 2,89, 2. Dresden 2,24, 3. Potsdam 2,11, 4. Schwerin 2,06, 5. Suhl 1,84, 6. Aachen 1,76, 7. Wiesbaden 1,39, 8. Münster 1,22, 9. Vilsbiburg 1,06, 10. Erfurt 0,82, 11. Straubing 0,39, 12. Neuwied 0,06. - Stuttgart is practically safe to win the league round, because the chances of Dresden to overtake them are now merely theoretical, while Potsdam and Schwerin have no chance anymore.

Main round will continue until at least March 29th.Number of playoff matches is not reduced, but they plan that in the quarter finals the lower ranked team will probably start at home, if a third match is necessary this will be played shortly after the second match. But this change to the playoff modus is not final.
The league is in contact with the international federations to try to end the season at a later date.
-
So Stuttgart will need to play their remaining three games (vs Dresden, vs Potsdam, @Schwerin) on the 24th/25th, 26th/27th and 29th
Dresden has 4 remaining unscheduled matches but according to their website the tickets for the Neuwied games will be refunded as they think these will be completely cancelled.

I think, this decision is completely bullshit (sorry): like in politics you have as organizer of such competitions to recognize the reality first, which VBL obviously not did, neither consulting epidemiologists or virlologists. The issues not really considered:
Omicron BA2 (dominating in Germany) is as infectious as measles, so it is extremely difficult to avoid infection even for persons with three vaccinations, because they offer nearly no protection against this serotype regarding infection (they will "only" help to avoid strong illness when infected).
Beginning with 20th of March we will have full halls again with spectators, who are allowed, to take off masks at least when eating or drinking, endangering the players this way.
Every personal contact is a risk: under these circumstances the players would have go to complete isolation against all other humans aside from their team bubble, to minimize the risks - this would have to be done for several months, this is not realistic IMHO.
Conclusion: the VBL will crash with this unrealistical approach and we will see it at end of March already.

Stuttgart has now also formally won the league round, decisively distancing now also Dresden after shutting out Potsdam and Schwerin already before. The order of teams didn't change due to points per match, the top ten are (Erfurt didn't came close enough to the two in fron of them with this tie-break success against Münster): 1. Stuttgart, 2. Dresden, 3. Postdam, 4. Schwerin, 5. Suhl, 6. Aachen, 7. Wiesbaden, 8. Münster, 9. Vilsbiburg, 10. Erfurt.

Why didn't Rivers play against suhl?

Why didn't Rivers play against suhl?
Next week Stuttgart has three finals within one week (15th CEV Cup in Istanbul, 20th DVV Cup, 22nd CEV Cup final at home) and they'll need her there, so she was rested this week. Her body can't take so many matches in such short time.
-
Only Stuttgart vs Dresden are not scheduled by the VBL
-
Stuttgart vs. Potsdam was scheduled for 26. March now. A match with solely representative pressure for Stuttgart, because they can't be overtaken in the table any more.

Does anyone here have any information as to why the actual home game from Neuwied against Dresden is taking place in Dresden and not in Neuwied? In the games against Potsdam and Schwerin, it was understandable that they were played by the opposing clubs, because the home and away games were played very quickly one after the other. But this is not the case here.
-
I cannot find the article right now, I think it was on Wiesbadens website where they said that Neuwieds hall is not available for their match, so probably the same for the Dresden match.

The hall of Neuwied is also for school sport. So under the week it is very hard for the team to get the hall. Our game (Münster) was played under the week, but in Rhineland-Pfalz there were holidays at the moment.

Münster's president mentioned in an article that they want to keep most of their current roster for next season, but two players "consider to retire", so they'll look for replacements. I could imagine Wezorke might be one of them, maybe Juliane Schröder or Marta Hurst could be other options? Hurst is the oldest player in the team and Wezorke and Schröder might want to have children maybe.

Monique Strubbe is already back on court for Dresden. That's very fast after her injury. And she's playing great!
