S.Korea - 2022-2023 V-League (Women)

  • haha perhaps a team would be too strong if they allowed a Chinese player for Asian Quarter

Chinese players can still apply for the 1st foreigner slot - higher competition though

I think the A-team players wouldn't be interested and it can be a good opportunity for some of the B-team players in the provincial teams

  • How's the salary compared to local league though? US$100K excluding taxes for Asian Quarter

I think makes sense, but if a A-team player applies then it'll be too imbalanced

salaries are pretty murky but KYK and Larson had very high salaries in Shanghai.

also a lot of the "salary" are in the form of benefits such as job placements at schools for physical education, so it can be hard to measure.

For a current top hitter like LYY or GXY, the salary is better domestically for sure.

  • Each club can draft 1 foreigner (of any nationality) and 1 asian foreigner (from the 10 listed countries) - which is referred to as Asian Quarter. Total 2 foreigners on a team.

It should be similar to Japan league. Since there are 7 clubs, there will be a total of 7 asian players drafted, 1 in each team.

For the very first draft in 2023, it will take place similarly to foreigner draft except every club will have equal chances in the draft. Each club will have 10 balls in the lottery pick.

So there will be a list of asian player that will apply to be drafted similarly to the other draft?

  • A male rookie who was just drafted today had past school bullying in his school records in middle school... and his punishment was that he couldn't participate in 2 rounds/ 12 matches...

Jaeyeong doesnt even have any on her record but is indefinitely suspended. Truly, what a shame.

Bad news for AI Peppers as Ha Hye-Jin appears to be ruled out for the entire 2022-2023 V-League season. Hye-Jin was diagnosed with a complete rupture of the supraspinatus tendon in her right shoulder and damage to the labrum. She will have surgery for the injury tomorrow (Oct 7) at a hospital in Seoul. Her recovery time is expected to be about 8-10 months, making it impossible for her to appear for AI Peppers this season.

That's one of the worst injuries for a volleyball player. ?(

    It's the snacks

Physios and doctors help with recovery

You can reduce chances of injury by building your muscles in the right areas to support your weight, or also practicing the right swinging and landing form

Hey Cesar, what happened to your claim of top training team from the 'best club'? Should've fixed her form or noticed her injury

What a pity for Ha Hye Jin though... truly

Damn, that's really sad. I really liked Ha Hye Jin because I remember she used to play in the U18 National Team, together with the twins and she was really good then. (Thai vs Korea match was soo good, with Ajcharaporn for TH and the Twins during their pre-debut days). She's been mostly bench in Hi-Pass, which was typical because Korean coaches like to do that to local opposites.

I really thought she was gonna have a resurgence on AI Peppers, but that boomer coach of theirs made her into a middle blocker lol

It just confuses me how Cesar and his team never noticed this...? They should have been able to screen this prior to the competition.
