2-2 sigh...
Let's see if ARG manages to lose a tie-break to IRN for the +10th time in the last decade.

They won! That was quite interesting seeing Argentina's OHs taking turns playing as opposite.
-
And it's a win for Argentina. They will play Italy in QFs if Poland beats Japan. If Poland loses, Argentina will play Poland themselves... (all this assuming USA at the very least beats BUL).
So, in short, Poland will be choosing opponent against Japan: win and play Brazil or Slovenia, lose and play Argentina.

In the end, China only has one Zhang Jing-yin.
My head sculpture, Jiang Chuan...
might be retired from NT this year.

If I'm not mistaken only way China can avoid Challenger Cup relegation is in the case that Cuba loses 0-3 to Iran?

Oof though loss for Netherlands, no final 8 for them. The outside hitters performed so badly that Ter Maat (opposite) came in to play OH

Yeah, all Dutch OHs were so bad today that on setter place I would set everything to Nimir. Also their reception was bad so the game was much more complicated.
-
I would like for Nimir and Dutch team to make olympics, but they need better setter, MBs, and OHs.
The two OPPs and libero Andringa + Van Garderen on a good day can play the required level.
-
Huber with 3 straight aces against Japan!
-
Great serving game by Poland! Hardly any errors. Great blocking too. Japan's reception is not the same when Ran and Yamamoto are not on the court.
-
Ugh men's volleyball is just so ugly with those carry balls every time. Don't understand why the referees don't call that off
-
I know there are games to play and bla bla but... it'll be like this:
USA v FRA
ITA v ARG (only 100% confirmed)
JPN v SLO
POL v BRA
-
Poland demolished Japan in straight sets with those tough serves and strong blocking.

I agree. I saw Plummer did it once ( but much clean) and Heynan, the commentator, was surprised and compliment her men-volleyballish skill.
They are ugly now, but were even uglier before around 2018WCH. I think this skill was invented and flourished by Polish OHs. FIVB had to introduce new rule just to limit these attacks because they caused a lot of confusion and controversy.
