So what's exactly the home advantage again? Both Turkey women and Germany men are hosting yet they have the most difficult groups
Olympic Games - Brazil 2016 (qualification process)

I think it's fairly balanced. Should be exciting.
-
Schedule is out.
-
NORCECA qualifier will take place in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA 7-9 January. I have seen the news in US Volleybal Twitter.
And, World OGQT will be held in 14-24 May just rumor.
-
Because of recent conflicts between Russia and Turkey, Russian federation bans Russian clubs to travel to Turkey.Russian clubs (Belogorie Belgorod and Dinamo Moscow) won't travel to Turkey to play CL matches. They also don't want to participate Olympic qualification tournament in Ankara. This is a major concern for CEV. Tournament may not be played in Turkey or Russia may not participate it.
-
I'm sure it will be resolved by January.
-
This is terribel news for volleyball. I hope that they will change there decision.
-
wow!! i dont know if russian team will come or not but they are the biggest candidate to qualify frrom ankara and if they dont come this makes many other teams chance wide open for OG
-
And Bulgaria can go in Ankara, but I don't think that this will heppend
It is better to have EOQ someone else than i Ankara. Russia needs to play this tournamet.
-
If this conflict hasn't settled down in more than a month, it means we're on the verge of World War 3 and volleyball won't really be anyone's first concern.
In other words, I think everything's going to be fine.

First strike from Obmochaeva ;
"I believe that it is dangerous and scary. In my opinion, it is necessary to transfer to another location, because such events and the attitude to Russia. It is necessary to take all safety measures for the athletes, I hope, once the international federation will listen to us and that -That will take "- said Obmochaeva.

First IAAF now FIVB.
Rio is going to be the most boring Olympics ever if every sporting body conspires to exclude Russian competitors.

The FIVB is not excluding them. Putin is forcing the Russian federation to not send its athletes to Turkey. There is a very big difference.
The FIVB would probably take one of the positions in the intercontinental tournament from Africa and give it to Russia if they needed it. Russia would dominate the tournament of course.

“A trip to the European Olympic Qualification tournament which will be held in Ankara is a risk to life.”- said the Setter and Team Captain of Russian team Ekaterina Kosianenko.
“Of course, we have such concerns. I even have more to tell you: we are even afraid to go somewhere in the shopping mall, and the fact that not to fly to Turkey. This all is terrible, and I do not know whether this risk is worth risking our life on this selection, and I think that all girls will support me.”- quoted Kosianenko from r-sport.

Although I find it seriously exaggerated, I understand their concern but I can assure you , there is no ill feelings towards Russians from Turkish people. Latest developments are a shock to everyone.Yesterday there was a Eurobasket match between a Russian and Turkish team, as expected nothing happened. It is true they won't be 100% safe because of ISIS terror threat , but terror will be a still major concern if this tournament is held in any other European country. Unfortunately this is today's reality. -

Wide rosters have appeared on the CEV site. Some interesting come backs seems to be possible:
Christiane Furst, Corina Ssuschke-Voigt, Paola Cardullo, Franceska Ferretti, Franceska Piccinini, Liubov Shahskova, Marina Babeshina and Floortje Meijners.
-
"Wide" rosters really fits the description German team registered 32 players, I'm too lazy to count other countries.
-
I don't know why some countries have registered so many players. Polish roster includes only 22 names which were released last week.
-
But no Gamova in Russia list, Im kind of surprise actually. Not that I think its a bad thing for Russia.
