Olympic Games - Brazil 2016 (qualification process)

  • By the way, I've never seen Skowrońska in that bad shape. I'm so sorry for her, because i know how badly she wants it ;(

  • :white: :white: :white:

Niemczyk about Nawrocki and Papke : " Long I respected Jacek Nawrocki and counseled him, but now I have to call him and the entire coaching staff losers. And the greatest is the one who has chosen him as coach, the Polish Volleyball Federation president Paweł Papke. It can't be that team is playing good enough only for two sets" - said the former coach Andrzej Niemczyk .

Aggressive but I see nothing wrong from his message.

  • my fear like everyone is Ferhat...he cant/shouldnt put Yılmaz on reception more than a few times!! he should use libero Örge at times in reception..Naz-Eda connection looks ok but i dont like Naz-Kübra connection. everytime i say higher higher balls to Kübra, Naz!!...as someone here said high ( and a little fast balls) to Neriman... Eda and Kübra's contribution very important to get over some rotations (against high corner block)..Ferhat should use Özge-Polen and Güldeniz first then Gözde Yılmaz

  • Aggressive but I see nothing wrong from his message.

Honestly, I'm glad that he said it.

  • Tamara Sušić didn't play volleyball for month and half because in her club in Romania told her that She need to done surgery but after She went to Croatia, they said to her that She had little injury and that She doesn't need surgery. She told me that she is out of shape but I don't why Milos didn't play. Maybe because she didn't listean coach and She didn't want to change her bad blocking teh... And afterall She had more blocks than Milos

Then you should blame the coach for taking an injuried player...She may have made more blocks than Milos, but technically wasn't really helpful in block, though she's good to look at :D

  • Polish coach simply ruined his team during this tournament. Jagielo was horrible tonight and I don't know why he never tried Kurnikowska in that position? I was not expecting it but Tomsia did much much better than Skowronska, why not use both on court? Especially when you middles suck in attacking.

Besides everything, it will be amazing to watch finals tomorrow, really good 4 teams will show their best hopefully and it's always a pleasure to watch Goncharova and Kosheleva against Turkish girls. All I hope is,
Malova having a bad day and Turkey using middles in attacking often. Otherwise Fetisova can finish the match with 10 blocks. For Naz's sets, it is almost like a disease in today's volleyball and so sad to see that people appreciate low-fast sets while they find higher sets ugly. Some setters will hopefully realize that their spikers perform much better with higher sets and one of these setters is Naz.

Yeah he is bad coach. Tamara already has offers from Italy and Poland for next season, I think that She will be very good MB :)

  • I've never been a big fan of Marco Bonitta and I don't think I will ever be, despite all that his decision giving chances to youngsters totally worked, unlike the polish one. Not many coaches would have done the same IMO, especially in such an important tournament.

Italy's new generation makes me excited, full of promising players and with such a coach like Bonitta I think they will have no problem to be back to world's bests. Orro as setter, Egonu as offensive OH, Danesi and Chirichella as MB, Diouf as OPP (although I don't like her at all), they probably need a better and younger libero who can replace De Gennaro. I hope Sirressi will be given leastwise some chances soon.

Poland's younger genetation also looks full of talents, it's all up to their federation, they may succee or fail big times. Smarzek, Damaske, Moskwa, Mucha and some others. I don't want to see Skowronska, Jagielo, Pycia and Belcik anymore. They're still good considering their age, however it's time for younger girls.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Russia is the only team in the women side who can get away and win matches without the opponent getting any sort of pressure from the players' serves (Fetisova is probably the exception in this team). I agree with your point regarding Goncharova. Everyone knows Kosheleva is the front runner in offense for Russia, but everyone seems to forget that if Goncharova gets hot, she even scores more points than Koshe just like in today's match against belgium. I think she will be the key player in the match against Turkey tomorrow. She can come out from her icy throne and get wild with the Turkish fans who love her

i dont think Russsian players serve that badly.. they serve good enough to place their block-defence at right time in the righ place (sometimes even triple blocks)..Fetisova,Zaryazkho,Startseva,Goncharova sometimes Kosheleva can serve well

You are right when you said few coaches give chances to the youngsters. It is quite strange. Danesi, Malinov, Guerra and Bonifacio are the same generation than Damaske, Smarzek and so on. But this polish generation was european champion in 2012 (Italy was silver) and they finished in a better position in the YWCH than Italy. But any player of this generation is on NT. But look Italy! Malinov and Bonifacio have already played Grand Prixes.

  • as many here,i liked Orro,Egonu and Danesi...Diouf does her job though she is not the best player to watch/ get pleasure  and for some reason she seemed more reliable than Egonu in crucial times to me
i think that is bcz she is experienced than Egonu

Same for Croatia, full of young talents but they are all in America and because of "old" girls they don't have chance.

  • Lyuba would be so sad if she reads our posts  She could be Orro's mother for example.

  • Scherban is basically there as a technical specialist to receive together with Malova and cover Kosheleva as well as they are able to, thats her primary role and function in their system, and she has carried that burden very well so far and committed very few errors. For me, considerably more solid than her fellow Malova. In reception Russias weak link so far has been Malova who have had troubles while trying to cover her comprehensive scope on court. I believe she will be the main target for Turkeys serves since they will not be able to expose Kosheleva. In attack Scherban has been pretty isolated from the picture without getting many opportunities to shine and has not really been required to contribute there either except against Poland.

i see..i think every player's reception can be harmed by proper serves

  • I dont understand the game between Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. Sometimes one of the team plays so good, fighting for the balls, but then suddenly, they play bad in next rallies.

Meanwhile, in South America, Argentina is struggling a bit against Venezuela. I didnt expect this. Venezuela hasnt been in the scene in the last years. After their debut in Beijing (they even won a set againsst USA), they disappeared.

  • Martinez jr injured after a block. It looked serious.

    3-1 DR. Strange match.

Unless surprises, PR goes to the B group where they shouldn't have any problems to qualify. They were better to grab one point today, so DR couldn't make any joke in the last match against Canada. Don't forget las Reinas del Caribe decided Porto Rico elimination from World Cup in favor of Cuba.

Please, USA Team, forgive me: it's too late. I have to sleep now.

  • Poland has dropped like a rock since 2010 World Championships. They are just not that good. In my ranking system before the tournament, they were 16th almost tied with Puerto Rico. To they jumped to 14th barely ahead of Puerto Rico after both team's matches.

Katia is now 32, and this was probably her last chance to go to the Olympics.

I've got Russia as the favorites right now to win this tournament. Italy should be better than they have played in this tournament. Netherlands with a win will get a trip to Japan.

I just can't see Turkey finishing in the top 3.
