No one except me complained when VNL was held in the Philippines and their national team is just as hopeless
-
They could have switched the Japan and Brazil pools so that teams could just stay in Asia for the last couple of weeks instead of moving between there and South America but I guess that's too smart for FIVB lol

They also hosted a round in the first VNL edition in 2018, in Suwon as well

Poland and Italy are quiet. Sneaky bastards saving money for Olympics qualifiers.
-
Even with Korea's current team the stands will still be more packed with fans than how many showed up at Shreveport this year.

They have the money to do so. Hosting is awarded through bidding. That's why lately most of it is in Asia. These areas have the people to pay to watch. I understand why Europe (except Turkey) is not much of a host. They offer empty stands. Even USA have little spectators when their home team is playing. Kinda wondered since NCAA VB is almost always packed.

How was the crowd then? was it packed? is volleyball a major sport in Korea?

To be fair USA women's got snubbed because of location. Shreveport Bossier CIty Lousiana is the last place I think of when it comes to volleyball USA. Even the men's teams got better locations.
NCAA VB or just college sports in general is a different story. These are die hard fans with some type of connection to the school so of course they pack in big crowds.
