Btw did anyone else noticed that vbw has Airi registered as OH? they changed Koga's surname which she didn't even use but couldn't be bothered to change Airi's position. Priorities huh

It was so easy. Her password is 1234Ihateyou
Here's proof

I can see Haruka unironically using that password except in Japanese so it would be 1234kirai

Wada is 'not ready' but Ameze somehow is?
Same reaction I mean, if Wada's performance last year in the NT is so half assed, how much more what Ameze showed in the NT the year before? She can't even drop her serves inside the court and it's her only role I like her, but this is just so funny
Ameze in the collegiate league lost to Yoshino Sato-led Tsukuba. Then entered VLeague but with no playing time except for a few serves and attacking opportunities while JT is leading by a lot, and yet she's more ready
I like both Wada and Ameze though so I want them both atleast in the wide roster.

Yeah I thought that was too biased but I like Ameze so I didn't bother arguing lol. We can't even be sure right now if Inoue is already off the table . Although if one thing the "sacrificed player" should be one of the rookies other than that the 3rd OH is anyone's game atm

Friendly reminder that not every player that does extremely well in the league automatically does well in the NT. Wings are especially vulnerable to falling short when transitioning to NT big pants. Very rarely does a player such as Ebata and Ran Takahashi get plucked from the obscure and display exceptional skills right off the bat. Plenty go through stages, identity crisis, some go through slumps, others just aren't cut out for it.

What if Valdes gets called this year? you never know what Manabe will throw at us. He's not the type to shy away from these antics. I don't see Wada nor Ameze getting that third slot.

He gave us Tanaka and Irisawa for crying out loud I don't know where he based those off in the end those 2 did nothing

i thought santiago is already a Japanese citizen? I think she is a great addition for the JNT. With that height, great attacks and blocking. I saw her play when she was with saitama last 2 yrs ago and this season she improved ALOT! I don't even understand why Philippine agreed to let her go just like that lol. I guess for her future? Valdes should also be included in NT.

I believe Ageo was already pushing for her citizenship during her second year as import BUT decided to represent the Philippines in few more cycles after that. She only started her citizenship in 2021 after that horrendous SEA Games we had. She finally had enough of the Philippine Federation. I just do not know if she'll make it to the cut off for the Federation Change Ruling that FIVB recently applied. From what I gathered from her interviews, it will take 5 years in Japan soil before she could change her citizenship first.
On her game: Her game really improved when Lerbach became her coach. She has always been a great offensive option BUT her blocking exponentially improved and became consistent during that time. Her scoring though was pretty limited for sometime when Yamazaki took helm. I remember a lot of Filipino fans puzzled by her distribution (there are few games where she sets her like 5 or 6 times in all of the match - one of which is five setter). Inoue( the setter that went from Ageo to Hisamitsu) , and Iwasaki were much more giving to her lol. I think Higashi is probably the best setter connection she'd had all this time in Japan.
On the National team: I think Wada will make the final lineup. I was very adamant pre-season if she might get cut BUT I do not see a lot of players rising to the occasion this past season. She also is so flexible with that service specialist/setter role she is doing with JT, doing extremely well during double substitutions and had shown that is capable to take OH role on a whim. I just do not see anyone maybe other than Okumu Oba (who is barely tested with the main team) that can replace her.
On the Finals: I think NEC played ready. They were distributing well AND doing great reception wise. This pretty much destroyed the blocking game of JT. In addition, all pins of NEC are on. JT's pins where batting horrendously (23% for Nishikawa (3.5 sets), 15% for Tanaka(2.5 sets), 54% for Hayashi (for 2 sets) compared to 40+% for all of NEC's pin). Its no wonder they tank when both Drews and Santiago is out at the back. Also, A. Drews was not going hard in some crucial moments was a bummer. -
The Japan NT wide roster is already available, great timing considering our topic yesterday. I posted it on the Japan NT thread. One of my comments here yesterday did not age well

I guess we already have an idea on which players are likely to retire and it's not Yamagishi like some of you hoped lol
I wonder if news will drop this week or after V Cup?

have you managed to follow her insta?
