The U squad from Mayu's gen had short careers with almost half of the squad already retired.

At least the younger gen has taller options now starting with Akimoto who is almost 190cm with super long arms. Chunganji and Baba are both 180. Miina Inoue is 2006er only 2 years older and is also at 180. And this I hate Volleyball Nabeya lookalike
Provided they all develop well
Akimoto is the same age as Inoue. How old is Kitamado? Valdes and Akimoto are the same height if both will enter as op in the future.

I believe she has one more year of HS (24–25)

Oh yeah, Ichiyo Ito. That's who I was thinking of but now I'm all confused. There were those two girls from that nowhere land HS, Riseisha, who got called up. I remember liking one of them quite a bit but think they both played on and off, or something

Looking at the U-Squad training rosters it seems like maybe 175-176cm is becoming the new normal, as opposed to 172-173cm
In the U20 category one could argue that the few 169-173 stragglers are still the best players (Uemura, Omori), but in the U18 category you get Baba and Chuganji sportin' 180cm on their resumes
Look out Russia we're coming for you
