For me the nice surprise is the presence of Danielle Scott in the American team I will always support this player and her attitude to playing in National Team
2013 FIVB World Grand Prix

Does anybody know how many teams will participate from Europe for 2014 World Grand Prix. There must be a new regulation for that as the number of participating countries has been increased.
Of course Poland has a Wild Card to 2014.
http://www.sportowefakty.pl/si…klad-reprezentacji-polski
and Michał Kaczmarczyk (from Sportowefakty.pl)http://twitter.com/migelito_91Kasprzak will play as receiver, there is a correction in this case

Rosters are available now!
Junior stars Gabi (Brazil), Zhu Ting (China) and Kubra Akman (Turkey) are listed.
Surprises: Apitz (Germany) and Juliann Faucette (USA). Maybe Apitz is only listed and won't play because Hanke, Weiss and Möllers are there too.
New captains: Guiggi (Italy) and Skowronska (Poland).
No Logan Tom and Jordan Larson. Any other surprises I think.
Maret Grothues too.

What about Wensink and Stam ?

What about Wensink and Stam ?
They are injuried...no surprise they're out of the roster. I think Quinta and Robin will be starters.
-
I see very badly, but Hodge is not the USA roster?. I understand Larson and Akinradewo were to win a break, Megan played Pan American Cup.
-

I think Kirally chose to give more internacional experience for other players, Megan, Jordan, Akinradewo they already have a good international space...maybe he wants to find alternatives for them.
-
I just realised that Akulova still isn't in Russian roster I expected her to be there...Matienko is terrible, I don't think Salina is much better, only Pankova is good. Maybe Junior setter Novik will join the team...

She can join, because she's in wide roster, I don't understand why there is still Matineko and not Akulova too

Zhu Ting (China).
In a interview for ESPN, Zé Roberto said it's time to start study about this amazing player for next OG -

I cannot find any source of this info at the moment, but I just remember that Polsat has deal with FIVB to 2014 for all Polish NT matches and with this info was also written, that our female team will play in WGP till 2014 without qualifications.

Was unfortunate choice of Russia! Always i'll support Russia. ♥ Go Russia. I'll miss Gamova, Startseva, Sokolova, Estes ♥ Go back again!

I guess Lang Ping will use these people (bold is main):
S - Shen Jingsi, Yao Di
OH - Hui Ruoqi, Liu Xiaotong, Yin Na, Zhu Ting
OP - Zeng Chunlei, Zhang Lei
MB - Xu Yunli, Qiao Ting, Liu Congcong, Ma Yunwen
L - Shan Danna, Chen Zhan

MA has a chance to play?

Yunwen Ma is in the list, so I guess she won't play for Igtisadchi next season.
As far as I know in China a player has to leave NT to play abrod. These rules are just terrible.
Feng Kun was allowed to play in Novara after the olympic games, but she had to come back for the Asian Cup and then she retired from NT.

As we can see in many teams we have big changes in rosters, I sum up who is absent from teams:
Brazil: Jaqueline, Paula, Mari, Sassa, Joyce, Fernandinha (only Jaque may have a more important role from these)
Bulgaria: Tanya Sabkova, Eva Yaneva, Kremena Kamenova, Elena Koleva
China: Qiuyue Wei, Linlin Fan, Jinling Chu, Ming Xue (Wei could be important, Xue last year was only in wide roster)
Cuba: Wilma Salas, Yanelis Santos, Rachel Sanchez, Leanny Simon, Yusidey Silie, Gyselle Silva (new group of escapers, like a starting line-up without libero)
Czech Republic: Martina Utla, Vendula Merkova, Sarka Barborkova (all not needed, however Utla can be useful)
Dominican Republic: Milagros Cabral, Cindy Rondon (Cabral retired, but was strong point, Rondon was useless) - it seems that Castillo won't appear in GP, but she's in roster
Germany: Kerstin Tzscherlich (retired), Angelina Grun (probably resigned from NT), Nadja Schaus (could be 3rd or 4th MB)
Italy: Sara Anzanello, Paola Croce, Giulia Rondon, Jenny Barazza, Paola Cardullo, Serena Ortolani, Francesca Piccinini, Eleonora Lo Bianco, Antonella Del Core, Simona Gioli (so many absents here, some will come back for ECH and WCH)
Japan: Megumi Kurihara, Hitomi Nakamichi, Yoshie Takeshita (retired), Yuko Sano (retired from NT), Ai Otomo (retired), Mai Yamaguchi, Erika Araki, Maiko Kano (changed position), Kanari Hamaguchi (also many absents, maybe permament change of team)
Kazakhstan: Olga Drobyshevskaya, Yelena Ezau, Cubans (Sanchez and Savin not registered this time, but may appear in further competitions)
Netherlands: Caroline Wensink, Debby Stam (both with injuries), Floortje Meijners (still not interested in NT)
Poland: Anna Podolec, Berenika Tomsia, Agnieszka Bednarek, Katarzyna Skorupa, Izabela Kowalińska (Żebrowska), Katarzyna Gajgał, Klaudia Kaczorowska
Puerto Rico: Alexandra Oquendo, Tatiana Encarnacion, Amanda Vazquez
Russia: Marina Akulova, Ekaterina Gamova, Liubov Sokolova, Lesya Evdokimova (Makhno), Yulia Merkulova, Maria Perepelkina
Serbia: Ivana Djerisilo, Ana Antonijevic, Danica Radenkovic, Jovana Vesovic, Sanja Starovic, Jelena Blagojevic
Turkey: Nihan Yeldan, Eda Erdem, Elif Oner, Meryem Calik, Nilay Ozdemir
USA: Tayyiba Haneef-Park, Lindsay Berg, Stacy Sykora, Heather Bown, Jennifer Tamas, Kim Glass, Megan Hodge, Jordan Larson, Nancy Metcalf, Logan Tom, Foluke Akinradewo, Carli Lloyd, Destinee Hoker, Mary Spicer (probably the biggest change of roster among all teams). In rest teams: Algeria, Argentina and Thailand rosters are almost the same, without important changes.
